Harbor Creek '27. Views are my own
Somewhat sports, somewhat meteorology
(recruiters please don't follow me i'm just the baseball manager)

To clear up any confusion: I'm no athlete π just an avid Harbor Creek Huskies fan. Sorry recruiters ... you won't find anything here. Might wanna check my following list before you go though
Final in Boys Soccer: Harbor Creek 5, Girard 0
With that win, HC Boys Soccer clinches its first Region Championship since 2019!
Itβs the 18th league title in program history, and the 1st under Head Coach John Parente.
Sidenote: The PIAA did approve on a first-reading basis to expand baseball and softball to a maximum of 22 games from 20. This could hopefully save a certain local rivalry that is in danger lol.
Style reminders
North East - town and school are TWO words
Harbor Creek - the high school is two words
Harborcreek - the town is one word
Please respect both schools and towns and get it right lol.
Well, the Huskies lost, but it's not nearly as bad as what is happening to Penn State.
I'm gonna count my blessings and consider myself vindicated here
@BobGreenburg Not sure about anyone else here, but I for one am perfectly fine missing PSU@NW in favor of Harbor Creek's homecoming, the way my Nittany Lions are looking. (Plus...obvious priorities)
It's a tough situation. Money's gonna win out every time. I don't think many would...cont'd
Forgot to mention sooner: avg. hi/lo at Erie Int'l Airport for 9/25 is 71/54. Was 66/42 this time around.
Definitely not your average late-September game
These things matter
Boys may very well have been playing a mid/late-October game on September 25th. Denser air in colder temperatures...57Β°F at kickoff and 47Β°F by the end of the night in Waterford...wonder if that had some sort of impact on how well the ball travelled
Such is D10 football
@BobGreenburg ...prioritize CFB gameday over HSFB if the latter is something they deem important (many in Western PA do).
Wouldn't anticipate a huge hit to D10/WPIAL attendance this week, especially after Saturday in State College. Added bonus - both teams are away anyhow

Advanced Technologies Group had two big wins today: 1) Our maintenance department installed a new ladder and hatch! This allows us to safely do antenna work on the roof. 2) We installed a weather station that student Alex Scarpitti set up! #HCBeTheOne#HCHSclubs#HCBeTheOne

Obligatory mention for curious Huskies fans in future seasons - while it's out of commission through at least the rest of football season (renovations), a similar PWS exists atop the roof of HCHS

This really was a "fell just short" sort of finish. Taking FLB to within 2 minutes in reasonable striking distance is a solid result, though obviously not what you're looking for
GM 5-0 going into next week's game appears to be a similar-strength opponent
Will likely be close
Credit where credit is due
14 pts by FLB is the Bison's lowest so far this season. HC D-line getting the stops they need to. Shoutout Powers for that Q4 INT. A lot of "close but no cigar" for FLB
Penalties killed drives both ways tonight but this was especially true for HC
Still a lot of confidence we can clean it up for hoco vs. GM next week. HC clearly still competent on the gridiron despite shortcomings tonight.
Gotta keep finding the hole ... any yards you can get by any means necessary
Gotta keep opponents out of endzone (evidently doable)
