The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is looking for volunteers to participate in a phlebotomist training our officer personnel will be having at the VFW on Grand Ave in Nogales. Volunteers will need to sign a waiver that will be provided onsite.

Last week was National Volunteer Week and our dedicated group of Search and Rescue Members went up to Heber, Arizona this past weekend to attend the Search and Rescue Conference.
We are receiving reports of a fire in the Sonoita area. We want to advise residents that the smoke they are seeing is from a controlled burn in Ft. Huachuca that has been verified by Sonoita Fire. Everything is okay and the smoke may be seen up until tomorrow.

Sonoita Fire and Patagonia Fire have cleared from the area and the fire has been turned over to @BLMAZFire . Thank you to all the hardworking fire fighters that helped in containing a fire of 132.4 acres!
We have received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a fire in the Sonoita. We want to advise all residents in the area of Sonoita that Sonoita Fire and Patagonia Fire are currently fighting the fire and we have a deputy in the area as well. No evacuations have been made at this time.
Tomorrow the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office will be escorting the hearse transporting the late Deputy Vasquez from Martinez funeral to the Sacred Heart Parish where there will be a mass ceremony in which the public is welcomed to attend as well. (1/3)

On Monday, February 14,2022 between the hours of 10:30 and 11:00, Deputy Guillermo Vasquez#176, will be returning to Nogales, Az.
Arrangements have been made with US Customs to allow for Law Enforcement to escort the hearse carrying the body of Deputy Vasquez starting (1/4)
at 14:00 hours and ending at 21:00 hours, when we will escort the casket back to Martinez funeral home.
