During #CoProWeekScot we wanted to share wee booklet https://t.co/OEq7fEcfdD gives overview of our journey in past 30 years & why working together & listening to the voices of lived experience matters to us, as none of what we have achieved would have been possible without that
Too often things are designed by people who don’t have direct experience of what it’s like to need or use them and ultimately, decisions are made for people, not with them.
Using a co-productive approach, we can do things differently 🙌

"Suddenly, from all the grimness of lockdown and the staleness of news comes this wee gem of a collection - words from folk who live at the sharp end of life in Scotland."
Foreword from @LesleyRiddoch for this new collection of writings about poverty: https://t.co/L68iMn7Zy5
This is a new, powerful collection of writing highlighting the lived experiences of people living with, and tackling, poverty in their communities. We need to hear more of these first hand testimonies to properly shape law and policies which make a difference in peoples lives👂👇
Latest child poverty stats are a stark read - even before the pandemic.
We think lived experience is a huge part of challenging poverty.
With this new collection of writing, HIIC students' are doing just that: https://t.co/pllHmcOCWB
Listening to Kirsty from @YouthComplexCYC talk about her amazing HIIC students as part of day 2 of the @CHEX_Org conference.
Great video about their work around hygiene poverty here: https://t.co/Jj541c7nRr
Highlight of the week so far chairing the CHEX conference, being on a platform with the inspiring Jane Jones author of Health Issues in the Community and hearing some of the stories below
We were delighted to have so many people join us for our annual conference this year online exploring the impact of Health Issues in the Community across Scotland.
We're writing up our reflections and will sharing the conference report very soon. #chex2021
How do you plan strategically for a bottom-up action-oriented course such as HIIC?
Our #CHEX2021 workshop, ‘Top-Down vs Bottom-Up’ will hear from tutors in Falkirk, Dundee & Glasgow. Giving different perspectives on how to plan & deliver HIIC.

It was very powerful to hear so many people talking about how important co-production is in helping us to 'build back better'. This was reinforced at local level yesterday in Renfrewshire where the same messages were coming through strongly from the emerging local network.
#CoProWeekScot great to spend some time yesterday with folks passionate about doing things with people, not for. Best key message for me was 'don't be scared of the community, talk to us!!' Wise words indeed 👍👏 @ScotCoPro@SCDC_Susan@redpath42@CommEmpower
