This is the official channel of the State Center Federation of Teachers, local AFT Union 1533 in Fresno County, Ca. Representing 2,350 college faculty.
Can we afford not to fight? ✊
While we’re out here juggling the skyrocketing costs of childcare, eldercare, and housing, our District is sitting on a staggering $120 MILLION cash reserve. That’s nearly double the state-recommended amount! 🏦
This isn’t just about today’s bills—it’s about our future. By denying fair pay now, the District is shrinking our retirement for life. 📉

We’ve been here before & we didn’t back down then.
Our @scccd faculty are standing up for the future of our colleges.
This isn’t just about faculty—it’s about the quality education our community deserves.
#SupportFaculty#CommunityStrong#Solidarity
The math doesn’t add up for SCCCD students. 📉
District Reserves: $126,000,000
Faculty Pay Gap: -$16,000 vs. neighbors
How can we provide the best education when the District refuses to invest in the educators?
Friday, April 17, we vote on our mandate. It’s time to prioritize the classroom over the bank account.

SCCCD wants their Faculty to believe their compensation offer is fair... It is not.
This video breaks it down and once you see it, you can’t unsee the lack of a competitive offer.
What’s really happening here?
* Money is being left on the table
* Faculty work is being undervalued
Join us at the meeting tomorrow to demand a competitive wage:

FCC academic Senate President Karla Kirk continues reading the resolution of no confidence in Chancellor Carol Goldsmith voted on unanimously by 250 faculty at the general membership meeting on November 13, 2025.

The issue at hand is not whether Chancellor Goldsmith is a good community advocate (which she is) or even a “nice person,” but instead, the SCCCD faculty have been telling the board of trustees (for over a year) that there is a breakdown in participatory governance and an incredible fear of retaliation! Employees do not expect business owners and community members to understand the nuances of participatory governance or statutory requirements and regulations, but these things do matter to higher education! ” Faculty member, Hillary Biehler

@SCCCD When 250 of your faculty employees show up at night, off duty, in the rain, and unanimously vote that they have lost confidence in your leadership, it means something. Please pay attention #integritymatters

@EdSource@EdSource, It’s pretty easy for corrupt leaders to deliver on promises made to their friends and ‘god daughters,’ and then take credit for the successes of their employees. #notimpressed
