Got some time with Mike McCarley to talk TGL. I asked about the criticism over the Full Swing technology and players' reactions to it.
He noted over two years, 1,922 shots have been hit into the screen, and only one wasn't picked up.
“When you’re putting a camera and players are mic’d, giving us and the fans the complete access, you’re going to get reactions like that." https://t.co/rLTYqVaYvP
Timeline filled with nothing but than man in red. TGL is genius for no other reason than it gives Tiger Woods—at this stage and with this body—a platform to play golf on television. And our phones.
@Top100Rick Gotta remember on hole outs - no wind, flat lies, and they can practice exact shots in advance. Greens also receptive. Just part of TGL.
And on tech - multiple layers of data including Full Swing impact data and 35 yards of Toptracer ball path data. Most accurate in world.
SGS After Dark returns with a late-night TGL postgame show!
@AndyTFE & @BrendanPorath will be LIVE on YouTube following the Ballfrogs-Jup Links match for immediate reactions, Valspar picks, & more.
Tune in around 11:15(!) ET: https://t.co/biCxIxrBXE
@Ben_Johnson81@TeeTimesPub@TGL They use the equipment they are use to during warmups to check their numbers. And it matches TGL’s hybrid stack of tech (it isn’t just Full Swing unlike the assumption - TGL also uses 35 yards of ball flight with Toptracer Range). Depth perception is the challenge - not the tech
@TeeTimesPub@dfsupdates TGL only uses Full Swing for impact data. Hybrid approach for shots into the screen with that and Toptracer Range with 35 yards of flight data.
TMRW Sports announced 2 more LPGA players for WTGL, a simulator team golf league beginning late 2026, with the addition of Lottie Woad and Rose Zhang. They join Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, Charley Hull, Jeeno Thitikul & Lexi Thompson, showcasing the global appeal of women’s golf.
