We’ve provisionally broken the UK record for the highest May minimum temperature for the third night in a row 🌡️

Camborne only fell to 21.4°C overnight, making for another ‘tropical night’ (above 20°C).

Meanwhile, Loch Glascarnoch in Scotland dropped to 1.1°C

Today is now the hottest day in May on record with Heathrow and Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 35.0°C

Until yesterday the highest temperature in May was 32.8°C, but we've now exceeded that record on consecutive days by a full two degrees Celsius 🌡️

We have provisionally broken the UK record for highest daily minimum temperature in May... again 😮

Temperatures didn't fall below 21.3°C overnight at Kenley Airfield, making it a 'tropical night' (no lower than 20°C).

Remarkably, the record was also broken yesterday.

Today has been the hottest day in May on record with Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 34.8°C - exceeding the previous highest May temperature in the UK by a full 2 degrees Celsius🌡️

This heat would be exceptional in the UK even in mid summer, let alone in May📈

Temperatures at Teddington Bushy Park have hit 32.8°C, provisionally equalling the all-time May record🌡️

The current May record is 32.8 °C. Records are usually only broken by tenths of a degree - making this heatwave unprecedented for the time of year 🌡️

Temperatures didn’t fall below 19.4°C at Kenley Airfield overnight, provisionally breaking the previous May record of 18.9°C set back in 1944

Temperatures have peaked today at 30.5°C in Frittenden, Kent 🌡️

This marks the first time in 2026 that the UK has passed the 30°C threshold

It is very rare for the UK to record 30°C in May, with the last time being over a decade ago on 25 May 2012
