As the blessed Hajj season comes to a successful conclusion by the grace and mercy of Allah, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the Maldives Hajj Corporation in managing the affairs of our pilgrims and providing them with excellent services. The Corporation has demonstrated that the work it has undertaken is truly worthy of recognition and commendation.
I would also like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu @MMuizzu for his continuous support, close guidance, and unwavering commitment to ensuring the well-being of Maldivian pilgrims, as well as for his steadfast support of Islamic affairs in the Maldives.
The Maldives Hajj Corporation has successfully established a comprehensive administrative system that enables Maldivian citizens to perform Hajj with greater ease and convenience. Furthermore, the decision of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to extend the benefits of the Makkah Route Initiative to Maldivian pilgrims represents a significant achievement and an important enhancement to this system.
As we acknowledge the tremendous efforts undertaken to ensure the success of this year’s Hajj arrangements, I extend my sincere appreciation to the Managing Director, Mr. Mohamed Shakeel, all employees of the Corporation, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and everyone who served the pilgrims in various capacities throughout the pilgrimage journey.
I also wish to express my gratitude to all staff members of the Ministry’s Hajj and Umrah Section and to the members of the Maldives Hajj Mission stationed in Makkah during the Hajj season for their dedication and invaluable service to the pilgrims.
There is no doubt that the successful completion of this year’s Hajj season was made possible, after the grace of Allah Almighty, through the tremendous efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving the Two Holy Mosques and the guests of Allah. On this occasion, I extend my profound thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah preserve them.
I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Saudi Ministry of Interior, and all other relevant authorities whose efforts contributed greatly to the success of this year’s Hajj season. The services and care provided by the Saudi Government and its people to the Two Holy Mosques and the pilgrims remain a remarkable and historic example of dedication and excellence.
By the will of Allah, the Ministry will continue its efforts to further strengthen and enhance the Hajj and Umrah service system, ensuring even greater convenience, efficiency, and quality of service for Maldivian citizens performing Hajj and Umrah.
Serving pilgrims and visitors of the Holy Mosques is an honor and privilege for us. We pray that Allah Almighty grants us the success and ability to fulfill this responsibility in the best possible manner.
May Allah grant us His guidance and success. Ameen.
It’s Friday, don’t lie for social media clout. Work is on going - attached video is from Thursday. The entire work is phased out, due to requests we received from wheelchair bound tenants, we are prioritising installing the footpaths first for all towers before installing paving blocks and green verges for the entire area.
I thank my friend H.E. President Anura Kumara Disanayaka (@AnuraDisanayake) for the warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to me and my delegation, from the moment we touched down in Sri Lanka on my State Visit. We held highly productive official talks today, reaffirming our close neighbourly ties and agreed to elevate 🇲🇻–🇱🇰 cooperation across trade and investment, education, youth, health, fisheries, security, and climate action. Our focus now is on delivering real benefits for our people.

Freedom of the media is paramount to democracy. However, decades of good work done by legitimate media is being undermined and discredited by politicians operating political mouthpieces. Now is the time for those independent career journalists to voice their opinions. A right to freedom of expression ends when it infringes on the god given rights of others. Journalism is not an all-access pass for public harassment and unsubstantiated accusations and slander.
