@QuayeRoyal@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss At which point then does it become a person? Unlike tadpoles and frogs, humans do not have significant morphological stages.
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss I would consider that enforcement of the legal system, not coercion. Law is a social compact that we engage in as citizens. Coercion implies unlawful force, something extrajudicial.
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss We are also not dealing in like terms, but you haven’t actually articulated yours.
Continuing to operate from mine, I do not view the prevention of murder as coercion. Therefore, government coercion does not apply in this worldview.
@QuayeRoyal@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss A tadpole is a living entity that is a known part of the frog lifecycle. It’s a developmental stage. And killing a tadpole is still killing, as it’s a living thing. Your analogy does not in anyway discredit my argument. Using medical terminology as obfuscation does not change it.
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss You have not answered the question I asked. If you’re going to scoff at my verbiage provide an alternative. I have at no point advocated government coercion, so you’re either straw-manning or using non sequitur.
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss Interesting that you see parenthood as fascistic nightmare. Tell me, since you scoff at the murder designation, when do you consider the baby a person? I gave you my criteria, conception, from which my usage of murder stems.
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss Actually no, I too think sex is enjoyable. But it also has a predictable outcome that must be acknowledged. How is murder as a safety net a justifiable exercise in your book?
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss Conception, since you ask. The egg is only half the chromosonal material and is not new life as such.
Why engage in the generative act of the species if you don’t want the predictable outcome? Why is murder your goto to address your own incontinence?
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss Which is why abortion is murder no matter how you pretty it up. It is the ending of life. Calling a spade a spade is not emotional manipulation. Using medical terminology in an attempt to dehumanize the unborn is.
@Jacket_Spangler@esaburruss The natural outcome of pregnancy is a child, so yes, in essence they executed a kid. Furthermore, this was at 20-22 weeks, which is now a point of viability with modern medical technology. If she had gone into premature labor, the baby still had a chance at survival. Execution.
@somewhereinSoCA@forestvanslyke I believe the Catholic position is that it is only abortion if killing the baby is the primary intent of the procedure. If the primary intent of the procedure is protecting the mother, and the baby dies because of the necessity, it is not considered an abortion.
I find it strange that fully grown adults spend their time debating abortion as though they somehow entered the world differently from every other human being.
Every single one of us started the exact same way.
A sperm. An egg. A unique human DNA sequence. A developing human life.
That's not religion. That's not politics. That's basic biology.
Yet we're constantly told a series of increasingly absurd claims to justify ending that life.
🔹 "It's just a clump of cells."
You are a clump of cells.
So am I.
The question isn't whether something is made of cells. The question is what kind of cells they are.
A human embryo isn't dog cells, cat cells, or tree cells.
It's human.
🔹 "It's not a human."
Then what species is it?
There is no stage of pregnancy where a human mother is carrying a dolphin, a kangaroo, or a toaster.
The unborn child is human from conception.
The debate is about whether that human has rights.
🔹 "It's not alive."
If it's not alive, why is it growing?
Why does it have a heartbeat, brain development, cell division, metabolism, and measurable biological activity?
Things that aren't alive don't develop.
🔹 "It's my body."
Your body has your DNA.
The baby has its own DNA.
Your body may be female.
The baby may be male.
Two distinct human beings are involved.
🔹 "It's just reproductive healthcare."
Removing a splinter is healthcare.
Treating cancer is healthcare.
The deliberate termination of a developing human life is a completely different moral question, which is why abortion remains one of the most debated issues on Earth.
🔹 "Nobody should tell a woman what to do."
Society tells all of us what we can and cannot do when another human life is involved.
The entire debate comes down to one question:
When does a human life deserve protection?
Everything else is a distraction.
The reality is simple.
Every abortion supporter was once an unborn child.
Every politician arguing for abortion rights was once in a womb.
Every activist marching for abortion was once dependent on their mother for survival.
Nobody arguing this issue today would be here if someone had decided that dependence made them less human.
That's the uncomfortable truth at the center of the abortion debate.
You don't have to be religious to recognize it.
You just have to be honest enough to admit how every single one of us got here.
@arjunswritings You realize the information you provided actually upholds the argument presented by DeSantis amd Trump, et al? That foreign nationals here illegally are not subject to our jurisdiction and therefore do not qualify under the 14, similar to how NA are not fully subject?
@ani_meme25@Yonko432 It was at her most chaotic moment that korra actually found “peace”. Removing access to her bending forced her into a pseudo peaceful state. The devastation of that moment erased all her aggression. Without fire and earth to back her up, she defaulted to evasion.
@ani_meme25@adas4sure That’s western philosophy. Eastern philosophy is circular. If you put the four elements in that order, water is weak to air, air is weak to earth, earth to fire, fire to water.
However, it’s pretty clear that it’s about the philosophy behind the elements vs personality.
Maybe it's a Black culture problem.
...Or maybe it's exactly what happens when ONE party spends 60 years DESIGNING a system to make sure a community CANNOT assimilate.
I have the data. I have the history. I have the receipts.

After 3 months of internet outage
I connected from inside Iran
And I have only one message for the world
Don't believe the lies of the Western Ayatollah-loving medias
The Islamic Republic is not winning the war and has suffered a heavy defeat
Militarily, we witnessed the destruction of IRGC centers in cities every day
Economically, prices in Iran have exploded and we can no longer even afford to buy chicken and eggs
The regime has been controlling the streets with armed terrorists for more than three months in order not to fall
They cut off the internet for three months so that you wouldn't hear these words
Even if you hate Donald Trump
You have to accept that the decisive winner of this war is America

@AlBuffalo2nite My son’s school channeled this energy in a shared performance. The flag team, dance team, cheerleaders, and band members gave one last performance while the class danced at the end of the ceremony. No destruction, no throwing of items. It was nice to watch, unlike this.
