@Raiders_GOATed @FTFonFS1@DannyParkins Wish we could fast forward to May when this is all over and they have Mendoza. Nobody was saying this about the titans last year w/ Cam Ward.
@Gonzo_Hunter@FTFonFS1@DannyParkins What team picking first from being dead last has ever not had a ton of holes. When you’re in position to take the QB you take the QB. You don’t hope to be in position in another year because you might not be. Next years class is loaded with everything, not just QB. Get that now.
@AndrewMarchand People wonder why the manningcast ratings have dropped, Buck and Aikman are a big reason. Main broadcast is excellent compared to what it was during that first year of the manningcast.
The MLB should do what the NBA did: institute a convoluted cap system that few fans really understand, makes trades much more difficult to execute and forces teams into impossible decisions with regards to contracts for star players. That would be great.
We need to stop comparing baseball to the NFL or any of the other major sports leagues.
MLB has a 162 game season. I’m 34 years old with a full-time job, a wife and three little kids. I barely have enough time to watch my own team play, let alone watch teams that I don’t root for. A lot of people are in similar situations.
MLB is a more regional sport than the other major sports leagues. Kyle Tucker just signed with the Dodgers and I might watch him play 5-6 times this coming season. I’ll watch Aaron Judge play 150 times.
If MLB designs a financial system where small market teams are attracting star players, those fans will be happy. But ultimately, there won’t be many eyeballs on those players.
And that might not be good for MLBs bottom line. I get that some fans want a salary cap for competive balance, but I am not sure that’s what’s best for fan engagement.
@pamsson Expecting the teams that make the league most of its money to slash payroll by 100-200 million dollars so that the pirates, marlins and A’s will spend 100 more is comical.
@ChrisHalicke Baseball viewership is regional. Most people watch only their team throughout the year unless it’s one of the major money makers for MLB. You’re asking those teams that make the league most of its money to slash payroll by 100-200 million dollars so the marlins can spend more
@sami_baaj@TrevMyhre@TheBGustafson Anyone saying that one base is truly awful needs to understand that all fanbases have truly awful people. It’s an unfortunate truth
@sami_baaj@TrevMyhre@TheBGustafson And Toronto fans doing the same when Durant tore his Achilles in the NBA finals? An actual season ending injury not one that he came back from a day or two later?
@NkirbyNYY Mets fans are the saddest thing I’ve ever seen, Nick. They spent nearly a billion dollars in the offseason to miss the playoffs and then sit in the cuck chair rooting against the Yankees and Phillies and acting like that’s everything they wanted. Bizarre behaviour
@pamsson@FantasyChamps15 We thinking Tucker as LF? Trusting Jasson in CF? Outfield has the big question marks… feels like the infield is set with unfortunately Volpe at SS
@R8erBob@MoeMoton Geno was supposed to be a solid QB that’s the problem. Was sold to us as a borderline top 10-15 guy with great numbers indoors… been horrendous.
@mrbarone2000@MoeMoton Mines already ruined haha I’d rather it happen with us doing right by Maxx than him being forced to demand a trade because of how bad the situation is.
