I have reinstalled Twitter to respond to this story and make sure my voice is fully heard. I am Casey.
My real name is Alex but my mom decided it would be best to hide it for anonymity. But this is my story, not hers. This is not the free press’s story.
It’s so depressing to see the human rights culture wars being reignited after the pause of hostilities during Brexit. The Conservative Party knows exactly what it is doing and the ground it wants the fight from. And if opponents cede the location of the battle they will lose.
How is balloon Twitter still a thing? States spy on each other. The correct response is to shoot the thing down, collect the debris for analysis, then maybe démarche the ambassador.
The stupid response is to start a new Red Scare, the way some in DC seem to be aiming for.

I wonder what most Westerners understand of Russia’s war. As Yale Historian Timothy Snyder noted, it’s rare that a country pre-announce that its intention is to commit genocide—but Russia did just that. And it’s carrying this out now.
Look. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Harry has a problem with his family then he needs to persuade the French to fund him, raise an army, invade and seize the crown.
What else was Brexit for, if not to restore traditional British approaches and values?
@British_Airways my flight was cancelled and I cannot make the rebooked flight - I had to buy a ticket on another airline. Rebooked flight leaves in 2.5 hours, I’ve been trying to call since 7am as it won’t let me cancel online; now call centre is closed. Can you help.
Exactly 9 years ago today, I was in a pub with my uni pals when we heard the news that then-president Yanukovych would not sign the association agreement with the EU, crushing Ukraine's European hopes and locking us to Russia.
We were not buying it.
Here's what happened next 🧵
@camillard I mean, it’s a bold move to take $75M from Budweiser and then act aggrieved that people expect beer* at a stadium.
*by beer I mean alcoholic cat’s piss, but the point stands.
One thing I know already.
If not for voters under 30 ... tonight WOULD have been a Red Wave.
