@GergelyOrosz Shouldn't an AI-first EM actually encourage the use of AI for perf and then use AI himself to make analyzing it all fair and easy? Rejecting AI here feels backwards
@GergelyOrosz Love these types of engineers! Always decouple perf from the price I'd pay to keep someone. Two different things, both meaningful, but very different.
@sirius_callus It's a different kind of strategy and it doesn't quite translate. War strategy is probably a better fit. Or just straight up business strategy. Plenty of books out there.
@BraydenWilmoth I think the naming is what threw me off, as evidenced by your renaming here. Should've just called it a Durable Worker or Stateful Worker or something related to workers. I initially thought a Durable Object was a storage service.
I learned a ton building an AI chatbot (https://t.co/jvCat5jBxf) and here's the stack I found worked for me:
- Cloudflare Pages and Workers
- Supabase
- Expo
- Gemini w/grounding and function calls
It also made me realize:
- Being AI-first means your stack is going to be very different
- Full-stack engineers (i.e. generalists) will rise to the top
- Engineering leaders to be technical and hands-on
Hello, first post to the community here! You've all inspired me so much so I wanted to join in on the fun. Today, I'm sharing out my project: Knuman, an AI assistant for families.

Even the greatest companies launched what we now see as ugly websites. From Amazon to Airbnb to Uber, they put themselves out there early to get real feedback. This can be daunting, but I'm ripping off the bandaid so I can just get to building and solving problem!
