there’s also the possibility that gunil himself decided to leave. maybe he felt that leaving was the best option for himself and for the group.
or maybe the company decided that continuing with him wasn’t possible because the damage was already too severe. or maybe there was more going on behind the scenes that we just don’t know about.
i don’t want to make up scenarios or pretend like i know what happened, but that’s exactly why this whole thing feels so fucking frustrating. because right now, everyone is just speculating.
Tong criticizes contracts in the BL/GL industry, revealing that some agencies take up to 90% of artists' earnings.
"The worst case I've seen was a 90/10 split. The agency takes 90%. (...) Some agencies also deduct expenses such as makeup, hair, and styling separately from the artist's payment."
@juliaannecudney Jump on the Little House commentary train! I'd love ur thoughts on whether they were successful at capturing the nostalgia without glorifying the problematic history. I've heard very mixed things, and I think more ppl should talk about the history of the Little House series.
#TheProsecutorsProposal enters the Top 10 of South Korea’s TV & OTT Drama Buzz Worthiness ranking.
This marks the first time since ‘Semantic Error’, which reached No. 1 at the time, that a BL series has broken into the ranking and competed alongside mainstream K-dramas.
@LXVEANDF3AR I think if he has explicitly stated it makes him uncomfortable, people who claim to be his fans shouldn't be misgendering him period, doesn't matter if it's to his face or on twitter or even in a fic for that matter. He made it clear how he wants to be referred to as, respect it.
@LXVEANDF3AR No one can do it all, esp in Korea where promotion and media is like a whole separate job on top of your actual art. Plus even the best bands in the world don't fully self-produce, they work w/ professionals who want to see their music brought to life by the best.
@LXVEANDF3AR I think esp fans who come from kpop latch onto self production as what they need to stand out and seperate themselves from the manufactured aspect of kpop. But that's not a fair comparison and really downplays performance skill as not enough to qualify as a "true artist".
