In my Intro to Programming lecture today I asked how many students still know „Gangnam style“ and I was pleasantly surprised that most of them do. The generational gap is not as big as I feared!

👉 My proposal "HOLES: Higher-Order Learning of Essential Structures with Geometry and Topology" was successfully funded with a 1.5M € @ERC_Research Starting Grant! 👈

Having moved to @unifr 🇨🇭 recently, I'm grateful that @SBFI_CH has options for funding even though Switzerland was a nonaffiliated country when I wrote this grant last year (with a baby 👶 on my lap, no less).

(it's a shame that 🇪🇺 and 🇨🇭 did not arrive at an agreement that covers submitted grants, but I hear the negotiations are going well otherwise)

Today is my first day at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Basel (@UniBasel), where I‘m starting a 75% lecturer position. I‘m really looking forward to this new challenge.
