No big deal, just a few legends of the game talking about women’s soccer in Maine 🥹
So much love to Michelle Akers, @sscofff, Sara Whallen Hess and Meg Linehan for an inspiring conversation at our virtual town hall talking all things @uslwtoportland. If you weren’t able to tune in, watch the full recording at the link below 🫶

@DerSchattenwolf@hearts_sc@opencup@VermontGreenFC The league required font is not ideal, but isn’t changing. We also won’t be changing the jersey. Notice how bad the new USMNT kit looks with the white back panel. Thanks for the feedback but no need to keep bringing it up! 🫶
@RIRoten@RIDefiance1636@DirigoUnion With all due respect, there are plenty of MLS supporter atmospheres that far outpace what’s happening here in Maine and Rhode Island. But hey maybe we can give it a one-game trial for the May 16 match, and we can see how it goes
@quadros13@RIRoten@RIDefiance1636@DirigoUnion It’s not within my control what other stadiums do (many of which are empty and allow for our supporters to cheer with plenty of buffer away from others)… our stadium is jam-packed, which requires tighter control. SGs don’t need drums to bring energy and grow the game
@RAHealey@RIDefiance1636 I did hear that Pitt was lacking in its protocols for that game - hope a lot of clubs learn better for the future! Point me to a couple written “certain items allowed for visitors up to a certain limit” policies and we will discuss and consider it
@RAHealey@RIDefiance1636 Our decisions are not based on that at all, and you know I’m not taking a drunk fan’s side, but it’s important to know that these high tension situations are why most clubs around the world do what they can to focus on security and try to reduce behavior that can escalate tension
@FQBnews@DirigoUnion Use it as a chip on your shoulder to bring even more vocal energy. Look forward to having yall up here in Maine and I’m sure you’ll make your presence known!
@RAHealey@RIDefiance1636 I think there was also an unfortunate security incident in Pitt? While I would never condone that, it doesn’t help ease tension when away fans are given special treatment to disrupt that other non-supporter fans aren’t, and ensuring peace and safety is critically important
@RIRoten@RIDefiance1636 Ok, let’s try EPL then, if you don’t consider MLS to be relevant. We are excited to welcome visiting fans, but aren’t going to bend our stadium security standards for them. Maybe you can have a good pregame drumline battle in the park across the street with @DirigoUnion ?
