I have been looking for a perfect clock for my living room for the past few weeks, so my husband and I really enjoyed watching Curious Clocks and Watches through time with Oliver Cooke https://t.co/fhXqxxbeP6. #MSTDSM
@britishmuseum has a very active Youtube channel, covering a wide range of topics. I love their "Curator's Corner" series, in which curators share their favorite objects from the museum's collection and provide fascinating insights into their history and significance. #MSTDSM
Each video has chapters so that viewers can skip to or rewatch different sections in the video. Videos provide additional recourses for viewers to read and the museum uses hashtags effectively to reach different audiences. #MSTDSM
I shared this playlist with teachers, friends, and parents who are homeschooling their kids. I love how the video encourages viewers to become artists. The engagement can be measured if they used specific hashtags and encourage viewers to post their masterpieces on social media.
I love the "Art Projects Inspired by Artists" playlist on the @SFMOMA YouTube channel. https://t.co/bqDvalyBj7 What a fun way to educate audiences, especially k-12 students. The caption includes a link to their website with additional resources. #MSTDSM
As a teacher educator, I appreciate educational videos and resources about migration, occupation, racial and gender identities, cross-community building, and how to support student learning on these topics. #MSTDSM
This series explores and challenges the complexity surrounding the term, Asian Pacific American, breaking it down into topics that span multiple timelines, geographies, and identities. #MSTDSM
The video used hashtags like #vincentvangogh#lego#modernart so lego enthusiasts who normally are not interested in art will come across the video and learn something about the masterpiece they are building. #MSTDSM
As a Lego enthusiast, I really enjoyed watching Building Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night" LEGO set with @MuseumModernArt staff, and learning about their personal reflections, research, and details about the painting's creation and impact. https://t.co/LnSmAxQ8Oq #MSTDSM
@eocieslik Museums can't control how long teens are on social media which could affect teens' mental and physical health. However, museums can use hashtags and creative content so that the teens are spending their time learning on social media #MSTDSM
Engaging with teens on social media will help museums stay relevant and connected with users who are increasingly reliant on digital communication. Teens are enthusiastic online users, and museums can bring and build excitement about their collections and programs. #MSTDSM
Social media platforms' ethical concerns shouldn't stop museums from using them to engage with their audiences. By using social media in an ethical and considerate way, museums can accomplish their mission and purpose more effectively. #MSTDSM
In addition to building community and engaging with audiences, museums can use social media to market exhibits and events. As long as audience targeting is done responsibly, transparently, and with regard to people's right to privacy, it is usually accepted to be ethical. #MSTDSM
Museums can and should compete with other institutions and brands online by leveraging their unique content, brand value, online presence, and innovative technologies. HOWEVER, there are many challenges such as limited resources for digital marketing and a lack of staff. #MSTDSM
This leads to security concerns #MSTDSM Ensuring the security of online fundraising platforms is critical to maintaining donor trust and protecting sensitive information.
While online fundraising can be a powerful tool for raising funds, museums need to ensure that they are not overly reliant on this method of fundraising. They need to continue to diversify their fundraising strategies to ensure long-term sustainability. #MSTDSM
Some potential donors may not be comfortable with online donations. Museums may need to provide clear instructions and support for online giving. I am comfortable with technology, but last week, I made a mistake donating online and had to spend hours tracking my funds online :(
