@OrtizGuajillo It changed my whole perspective of rural! Rural kids and parents were great, just like my small Greek community in BIG Dallas. We need to learn to get to know people, not assume that since they are from a certain place, they learn, vote, worship or dress a certain way.

@OrtizGuajillo I can relate to your experience. I grew up in Dallas with Greek parents. I went to UT (thought I didn’t fit in because of my Greek heritage), and it wasn’t the rural folks that thought me odd, but the wealthy big city students. When I graduated, I taught school in a rural area.
