We have had a fantastic time painting the blue hoardings around the construction zone. We were lucky that JP Construction gifted us the paints and brushes to create this beautiful mural. All the children worked using the inspiration of Yayoi Kasuma's paintings. @JohnPerkinsCon
John Perkins Construction came in today to judge the children's building site safety poster design competition.
The lucky winners won a £20 gift voucher
Well done children and to all the entrants. The standard was very high!

The first crane of our £6.2 million new building project has been in action this week, as we start on the timber frame installation. Ultimately, this will become a modern, spacious new block for the school. #MakingItHappen@schoolashcombe@kaleidoscopemat
Just the loveliest time celebrating our Year Six Leavers this morning.
Families were treated to an accomplished, confident and hilarious performance, followed by a family picnic and games on the field.
We're so proud of these fantastic young men and women.

Look at these fantastic games and toys kindly bought for us by our wonderful AFA. They are for use by all pupils during a wet playtime or wet lunchtime. This is just a small selection of what they have bought for us 😳 Such a fantastic resource and we’re so very grateful 🥰
Our Ashcombe community is extremely proud to hear this news. Lauren (and twin sister Jodie) were former pupils at Ashcombe school. Lauren always dreamed of a career in sport.
Children - follow your dreams they can come true 🏏🌟💫
Our Hub is now officially open!
It was wonderful to welcome our visitors to see it in all of it's glory. Our school council members really did us proud - providing guided tours for our guests. Special thanks to the trustees of the Hargreaves Foundation for their ongoing support
Just look at the fantastic artwork Year 1 have been doing using texture this term.
Children explored how texture can look on a picture and then designed coastal themed pictures with human and physical features using many different textures. 🙂

Reception children have been exploring “what is beneath my feet?”. They looked at the earths core and volcanoes with a working model to stimulate some fab independent writing! 😍

Year 1's parents workshop was a load of pants this week! 🤣
It was great to welcome families in to share the children's work around the book 'Aliens in Underpants' and to design and make their own versions together.

This week has been all about kindness in school.
There have been so many small acts of care for one another, like these beautiful resources sent to the school by Kim Shepherd
Thanks Kim, Y3 children will use in our kindness week project 💙

Massive thanks to 4SH for helping to sort sweets into bags for the upcoming table top sale which is taking place at 3:15 on Thursday 23rd March to raise funds for The Liam Shepherd Foundation. As well as gifts, books, DVDs etc. #WeAreAshcombe 🥰
6KN combined both their projects from the year and visited Acer House again with their knitting!
The residents thoroughly enjoyed helping the children with their kitting while having a good natter! So lovely to see the children engaged with the residents. 😍

Thank you to children and families for their support of our Red Nose Day event here at school today. We raised a fabulous £268!

It's 'kindness week' in school next week! Children will be learning all about random acts of kindness and will have some homework to perform one!
We hope you're the recipient of a random act of kindness, do let us know so we can celebrate them in school too 😊💜

Whoop! The old buildings are starting to be taken down at long last!
Children loved watching the action safely from the hall- and much cheaper than a trip to Diggerland too! 😆🚧🎉🏗⚠️
