I am a school psychologist with interests in technology use in practice along with child and adolescent development with emphasis in bullying and cyberbullying.
Enjoyed seeing everyone at #KAPSCon25 and being back in my home state for a presentation on #certification, #licensure, #PSYPACT, and the new school psychology pact. Lots of interest.
Thankful to be a part of the Ask a Psychologist series put on by the Kentucky Psychological Foundation and Mental Health America of Kentucky (Official) as we focused on #AI, its use, and implications for society.
The long-awaited guidance on #AI from National Association of School Psychologists has been released. It was a terrific experience working with all the task force particularly the #ethics section I was on. Check out the guidance if you are a NASP member.
I enjoyed remotely joining Colorado Department of Education for their Landscape of Wellbeing conference to discuss the digital influence on #Adolescence#wellbeing and #behavior. It is so important for teachers to recognize some of the behaviors associated with screen use.
A big present for young kids at the start of 2026 regarding Sesame Street. It will be posting hundreds of its full episodes to YouTube. Great for preschool lessons and school counselors discussing so many great #socialskills. I still love Grove explaining near and far!
๐ Between 2021-2024, the rate of teens (12-17) who had a major depressive episode (MDE) in the past year declined from 20.8% in 2021 to โฌ๏ธ 15.4% in 2024.

While #AI#chatbots have a lot of potential therapeutically, it is the wild west out there and the public is getting harmed. Kudos to @APA for voicing concern.

Bravo for at least half the states to have an #AI policy for schools and putting in some guardrails on how to use this #technology.

@APA does a good job here with #EthicalAI guidance for using #AI in clinical practice. Simple and straightforward on the main issues to consider. #schoolpsychology

Interesting survey about how students are using #AI. While institutions fumble along creating policies, #students are forging ahead with no guidance and all of the positive and negative implications that go with it.

I found this to be an interesting piece on the cost of overrelying on digital tools that is likely accelerating as we reach the AI age.

Ran across this report from McKinsey about #upskilling of the workforce. I read into this that there is need for more education and training to ensure workers can be assets in the face of #AI taking over a lot of low-level work.
