@Physicist47@Azadkhyala@MissAnamSaeed I was expecting at least some numbers to substantiate the claim of no reduction in consumption like usage at previous and current prices.
@ChauhdaryMUsman@Huk06@AtifRMian This is what happens when uneducated people try to discuss economics. Managed undervaluation isn’t devaluation. China/Japan/Korea ran a cheap currency for decades. No hyperinflation. Built the world’s largest export machines.
Our overvalued rupee has us at the IMF every 3 years
@AtifRMian If I understand correctly, Atif Mian is essentially saying Pak should run an East Asian style managed FX rate. Keep the rupee cheap, boost exports, stack reserves. Instead we let remittances spill into overvalued currency that effectively:
"Taxes exports and subsidises imports"
@Huk06@AtifRMian He in fact has given a plan this time. If I understand correctly he’s essentially saying Pakistan should run an East Asian style managed FX rate. Keep the rupee cheap, boost exports, and stack reserves. Instead Pakistan let it all spill into consumption and an overvalued currency
If Pak has struck a rehabilitation center, it is morally reprehensible and utterly condemnable. History has shown us time and again that war never brings peace, but only fuels more conflict.
Let’s be very clear that bombing Afg will not bring peace or stability in Pak
@hshakeem65@999saudsalman Hassan, why comment on things you know nothing about? Don’t waste your breath defending the indefensible. Most of Iran’s attacks on GCC targeted civilian infrastructure. They’re acting out of desperation: morally wrong and strategically counterproductive
@bilalsher58@DThucydides This is completely false. Most of Iran’s firepower has targeted civilian infrastructure. Iran is attacking GCC out of desperation, and it’s not helping them at all. Only people with peanut sized brains in Pak see this as some kind of bravado
@Shahabs@AhmadFPR Unclear whether this is intentional ignorance or genuine naivety. Iran has used the majority of its military firepower against GCC nations, mostly targeting civilian infrastructures
@breakingnewsbob@Marilyn3090@AhmadFPR This is a very stupid argument, count the times they have attempted to target the airports. Plus it evidently clear the civilian buildings hit by drones weren’t housing any American soldiers. Iran targeting GCC is out of desperation and is counterproductive
@_amitbehere That being said, until a few year’s back Pak median income was notably higher. Since then the aftermath of WoT and constant political turmoil has brought it to the average South Asian level.
@allthingsfarzi @_amitbehere Lahore comparison isn’t true, actually there’s no comparison. Any Indian, that’s ever visited Lahore gets surprised. If you are comparing high rises than yes your point is valid otherwise there’s no comparison of any sort at all.
@Barmakf Afghan hostility to Pak is old. Pak hatred for Afg is recent, Pakistanis viewed Afghans warmly until lately.
Now this pointless extreme hatred is mutual.
That’s said, strongly against any Pak military attack on Afg or interference in its affairs, it’ll be disastrous for all
@Gulryz_@ItsNotaRant You can evade all you want, the fact remains you need to be more considerate of human life , it deserves less callousness than you’re affording it.
I didn’t even bring in any nationalistic Pak US argument
Anyways thanks for your time
