Even @chuckschumer knows NY is still getting coal power from PA, a total loophole in (and stain on) all of the climate ambitions of NY.

“While 2020 saw a historic drop in GHG, the fact that…more than 1/2 the world’s population was under lockdown, & emissions ONLY fell 6%, should be a sobering reminder of how staggeringly hard it’ll be to get to net zero & how much more work we have to do” https://t.co/0LEbfihhiF
While @NYSEandG is STILL importing coal power from PJM's Homer City plant (397.3 mws for June 2021 despite coal being banned in NY), I'd strongly disagree importing coal power into NY is "consistent with state climate agenda" as stated below in NYSEG testimony:

@thetippetytop @tedstein elementary and high school kids should take field trips to local landfills. And a AMZN prime membership should have the prerequisite that you go to the dump at least once.
And yes, I take my own trash to the dump once or twice a week. Makes you consider your purchases wisely
@m_jfrench I like the term "orphan issue." Same thing is going on with the continued import of coal power by @NYSEandG from PJM's Homer City plant into NY per their rate filing. They don't even try to hide it yet no one seemed to take notice. "Leakage" prob a similar applicable term...
As @POTUS works to put people to work through the American Jobs Plan, he doesn't have to look much further than America's forests. Growing trees and building healthy forests will put large numbers of people to work across the country https://t.co/PbUBNjwqpL
@NYforCleanPower I thought the new Danskammer was supposed to be Hydrogen or some other sort of clean power with nat gas as a backup?
And if that is opposed, then why is NY ok with allowing NYSEG to import way dirtier coal power from PJM's Homer City facility with their firm transmission?
Today's FERC resource adequacy tech conference: why no mention of carbon pricing as an energy market enhancement that works with capacity markets to solve all of the state's zero/low emission desires? (zero not possible for quite some time.)
COAL BY WIRE: @NYSEandG found a way to bring coal into NY from PA: bring it in over the wires. Coal power is illegal in NY as of Jan 2021. NYers should see there is a low hanging fruit still left on the enviro clean up tree and stop this....

@abluecrab1 @thetippetytop no two ISOs can be the same, otherwise how would the consultants make money from building up their systems? ISO-NE was the only smart one and "mostly copied" PJM's systems.
@thetippetytop Agree this is a huge issue and one the ISOs don't push because it would hurt or limit their Tranmission Owners. FERC would have to direct them to fix this - they won't do it on their own. SPP is by far the worst on this - last two year underfunding of TCRs was enormous
