I’m speaking on Demystifying Value at 12:30-12:50! Sign up to hear more about @sci_ba’s Value Concept model and distinguishing between stakeholder, business, and customer value.
@OutoftheBoxBA If the Dems stole the presidency why didn’t they alter the rest of the ballots to take the Senate too? Seems like quite shortsighted malfeasance to me.
@ryanfolstersa All models are wrong; some are useful. I suspect the #VCM is both the least wrong and the most complete that a model of value can be. Other models discard necessary detail. They are simplistic and complicated. The VCM is simple and complex.
Kevin has written a succinct summary of my simplified Value Concept Model (VCM). It’s worth a fast read - and a slow think. This model has profound explanatory power that you won’t grasp until you *practice* finding all the concepts to real situations.
@bakevin@chris_analyst@BBCapability Consider that the ‘Person’ here is really the ‘evaluator’ - any entity capable of assigning a value to a thing in a context. For example, when a set of human biases and value judgements are embedded into an machine learning algorithm, the machine becomes the evaluator.
@bakevin@chris_analyst@BBCapability “Other priorities” indeed. :) I’m glad to see this Value core concept model getting some airtime. It is applicable to any situation where an evaluation occurs - which is a lot broader than you might think at first glance.
@bakevin@BBCapability I'm also thrilled to have @bakevin helping clarify value. It is such a pivotal concept, yet also a profoundly misunderstood idea.
I have bad news. The cancer has spread. I likely have weeks-to-months, but not more. The end might come suddenly.
The FB link and video will tell you more, as will my post today. It is what I know until the end of next week.
Be well.
