@Harcel @merrdiff It’s been targeted to astro people, but it’s foundational. Almost none of the material is astro-specific; it’s appropriate for most.

@npr247 AstroPy FITS handling is pure Python, fitsio IO is a wrapper around cfitsio. (c)fitsio is always better/faster the larger the file is.

@iamstarnord Related, things you would perform many operations on/with, eg. think of all of the methods available in a Python "list" object.
