@matthewloeb Nearly 99% of IATSE was willing to strike if it meant strong arming the AMPTP into a deal. Instead you pushed the "nobody wants to strike" narrative and used that to avoid a strike, you should have been anxious to go thru with the strike. We had so much power and momentum.
@GhostPanther Think about making a commitment to doing 12hr max shoot days with 12hr turn arounds. That’s what Haskell Wexler fought for. Everything else is just noise.
@matthewloeb@IATSE This agreement makes it clear that American workers health / safety is not a priority. This was performative and in the end greed won.
@matthewloeb Loud & clear, 98.68% want:
“…basic human needs…meal breaks, adequate sleep, and a weekend”
and 100% of crew members deserve that. Thank you.
@matthewloeb AMPTP president Carol Lombardini was paid $2,139,729 in 2019 (according to this public record Form 990). She is highly incentivized negotiate against unions. Vote yes.
Our goal is not to strike. Our goal is a fair deal. @IATSE members deserve to have reasonable rest, sustainable benefits, living wages, and meal breaks. #IASolidarity
@matthewloeb@IATSE There has never been a good reason for shooting a +12 hr day with less than a 12hr turnaround besides the greed of wanting to make more money at the expense of the health & safety of your workers
@matthewloeb@IATSE This, exactly:
“Why haven’t the producers replied to our demands?…Because there’s no good argument for not giving workers rest and meal breaks”
@matthewloeb@IATSE Keep fighting for adequate rest periods & the health/safety of crew members. Don’t back down. Thank you. Now is the time for change.
@CaseyNewton Met Brian at the petco in mountain view 2011
I told him about my probs with Mt Gox
At the time Mt. Gox didn’t offer vegan cat food or 2 day delivery
...the rest is the stuff of legends
