We have really enjoyed comparing the nutritional value of some of our favourite foods. We could identify the nutritional labels on some of our packaging from lunch time @ScienceEps

When you get into class ask your pupils this question...

'Do you know how sperm whales take a nap?'

When sperm whales need a nap, they take a deep breath, dive down about 45 feet and arrange themselves into perfectly level, vertical patterns, like the picture below. 1/1

They sleep sound and still for up to two hours at a time between breaths, in pods of 5 or 6 whales, for protection.

For 180,000 years no one knew whales slept vertically until 2008 AND no one captured a really good photo of it in the wild until 2017.

Today we have set up an experiment to show how plants transport water. We made predictions using our current understanding and can’t wait to check them soon! @ScienceEps

Today we had the pleasure of being visited by a bee keeper. We were able to try on a bee suit, investigate a bee hive and taste delicious honey. We enjoyed every moment 🐝🍯

This week @AquamarineEps have continued their enquiry into the phenomenon of light with this week’s lesson focussing on how we see objects. 💡👁 🌈 With the absence of light, the children understood practically that it wasn’t possible to see objects.

@AquamarineEps continued their learning around the phenomenon of light. They looked at how light reflects off of a mirror and created their own periscopes to prove this and look around corners 👁 💡 ☀️ #STEAM #Science
