The flu continues to wreak havoc across the northern hemisphere. In Canada, we've had at least two dozen deaths so far, including among small children, over a handful of days. Here are some things you need to know:

This also means that if you or your child are symptomatic, stay home from work or school (if you can) until your symptoms abate. You can also buy rapid tests, but they're a bit pricey.

COVID is still around, still infecting people, still landing patients in ER and still affecting the health workers. I've seen an uptick in ER. Keep up with vaccines, masking works despite the ill-done Cochrane review and stay home if sick despite Ontarians lacking paid sick days

So let me get this straight: The Ontario government is okay with spending an average of $2.8 Billion/year on highways...but isn't okay with spending an average of just $5 Million/year on life-saving healthcare coverage for uninsured people?

Car accidents used to be the biggest killer of US kids. Driving safety legislation brought that down considerably. Now firearms are the biggest killer. How will bring that curve down? Thoughts and prayers?

If someone you know or follow posts something expressing a political view contrary to your own, don't get angry. Get engaged, if you want. But don't get angry. We're allowed to disagree. We're supposed to disagree. Seems obvious, but I think we have to remind ourselves of this.
