Campus Reform Nigeria kọ pe:
“What if Chemistry could be taught in a language millions of people naturally understand?
That is the vision behind the work of Ahmad Tijani Akanni Azeez, a Nigerian educator taking Chemistry education to Yoruba-speaking learners through the indigenous language.
Born in Ogun State and raised partly in Lagos, Ahmad’s own academic journey has been marked by excellence.
He began studying Chemistry at FCE (Special), Oyo, where he reportedly graduated as the Best Student in the School of Science with a 4.84 CGPA in the 2015/16 session.
He later studied at the University of Ilorin as a University Scholar, combining Chemistry with Education and Biological Sciences. In the 2018/19 session, he graduated with First Class honours, according to his account.
His academic journey later took him beyond Nigeria. In 2021, he secured an ASEAN/Non-ASEAN scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, graduating with Distinction in 2023, according to his account.
But his most distinctive contribution has been his decision to make Chemistry more accessible through Yoruba.
Through his Kemisiri Yoruba initiative, Ahmad teaches Chemistry online using Yoruba, breaking down scientific concepts in an indigenous language and showing that complex scientific knowledge can be communicated beyond the boundaries of English.
His work reflects a broader belief: when knowledge is brought closer to people through a language they understand, more people can connect with it.
From academic excellence to indigenous-language education, Ahmad is using his knowledge to create impact — and inspire others to do the same. 🧪📚🇳🇬”
Gele does not have another name in another language.
The Yorubas did not call okpa another name, and we did not rename suya.
We call it what it is so that those things won’t get stripped off their origin.
There is no other name for Gele.
Gele is Gele!
Gele is Gele worldwide!
As someone who does Biochemistry research at the peak, if you find yourself doing this course, do everything you can to graduate with a First Class honour or a minimum of 4.0 CGPA.
You will thank your stars.
The K-pification of Yoruba words.
“Kpẹlẹ” “Kpanla” What the hell do they mean?
It’s pẹ̀lẹ́, not “kpẹlẹ.” It’s pàǹlá, not “kpanla.”
Not every Yoruba word that begins with p needs an extra k slapped in front of it.
There’s a difference between finding out your partner is cheating after 2 weeks and finding out after 2 years.
And the difference is having unrestricted access to their phone.
Do what you want with this information.
You see how i made that tweet of my wife, and no man on earth was able to come out and say “is this not your wife” ?
That’s the reward of marrying a very beautiful, virgin, submissive, first class degree holder, contented woman.
If he reach your turn go marry mgbeke.
This is the true Yoruba culture. This is the culture we are ready to promote. This is what true Yoruba heritage preservation represents. This is what I want to engage in to preserve the heritage of my forefathers.
The language, the food, the attire (Aṣọ Ìbílẹ̀), the moral code of Ọmọlúwàbí, the proverbs and oral wisdom (Òwe àti Oríkì), and our traditional craft.
If it is this, I am in 100%. If I am opportune to be on Masoyinbo, I will gladly go.
Kudos to Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat for showing up to support what truly matters. This is how heritage stays alive 👏🏿👏🏿
