After Jacob Rees-Mogg issued an office style guide, which was released to the media and widely mocked, I decided to discover a follow-up email in which he set out the reasons for his rules.

@jordrich97 Wish I could disagree. I was pessimistic when he was appointed but hopeful I'd be proven wrong, its looking increasingly unlikely I will be.
@Nick_Loughlin_@DanSherry16 You can make the case Clark is doing worse than Hartley. Hartley had the consistent flaw of not understanding the standard of player needed for League 2, Clark has been allowed to sign some outstanding players at our level, is still failing to build a team thst can score goals.
@Nick_Loughlin_ He basically says nothing - only that person X, Y, and Z are all involved in the process. A better interviewee would give a couple of examples - possibly anonymised - of how they heard about and decided on a player. Its not even cleae what roles those staff members have.
@Nick_Loughlin_@OwenKHFC Even back then there was the accusation that Huddersfield drew too often, and should have done better given they were built around Jordan Rhodes. Promoted a few months after sacking Clark...
@Darren_Mooney Even that's not enough sometimes - there was a recent Supreme Court case that had Ben Shapiro and I think Matt Walsh outraged that they ruined America by maintaining the status quo.
@Observer853211@KuperSimon There's others at the same level - Pele, Eusebio, Cristiano Ronaldo etc. There's going to be one country that produces more than one all-time contender, Portugal doing the same.
@jedialbiceleste You've got me picturing opposition fans chanting "You're just a very, very, very, very good Lee Cattermole..." which would be a novel chant.
@eyeswideshut75 He is/was the highest ranked player in the world on Elden Ring, which strikes me as particularly implausible. If he's willing to go to those lengths to look good at his 'hobbies', then recommending a book he's not read is small-fry in comparison.
@Darren_Mooney And Ridley Scott was raised in Stockton-on-Tees and Hartlepool, studying art in Hartlepool. Its my neck of the woods and I can say that its very much not Oxford.
@DonaldClarke63@Darren_Mooney I've not seen Mickey 17, but it looks to be in the Fifth Element - Valerian spectrum. That can be done well or badly, but both have a range of imagination and visual invention that's rare in modern films.
