The N95s we have stashed in the truck for COVID came in handy for another reason yesterday: wildfire smoke that descended over SK. And then I dropped the mercury field blank in the river (but retrieved it!!!). Just another day in the field 🙃
Maja and I collected one of our first samples at McKinnon Creek on the eastern boundary of @RidingNP for year 2 of our partnership with @GovCanHealth PMRA’s national pesticide monitoring pilot program! Such a beautiful site… we didn’t want to leave 😍
Final wildlife count: at least 4 moose, a great horned owl (!!), some deer, maybe some pronghorn??? It seems the moose were showing off for both the E & W PPWB crews this week!
I was hanging with Dallard this week sampling the western #PrairieProvincesWaterBoard sites (for the first time since I joined HBWQMS!) up the SK/AB border. The plethora of hoar frost everywhere made these already beautiful sites extra snazzy ❄️
