@Strickomaster Agree. Sadly, we perhaps need to rethink the high number of staff & SLT who are not teaching. ATM we have a lot of administrative staff & management, but barely enough staff to teach pupils due to lack of funds.
@teachergoals 🤣 So true. Most of the useful equipment in my classroom is 'borrowed' from my offspring. My extended family are constantly donating useful stuff to my classroom.
@AlexJQuigley@EducEndowFoundn Do schools still have access to TAs in the classroom? I wish! Ours have been drastically cut. Remaining TAs hardly work with teachers. They're always covering sick teachers, teacher release for meetings (though most meetings are scheduled during our PPA) & cover teacher PPA.
@Mr_Raichura Great! I prep UKS2 for HS by teaching pupils how to become effective learners. Pupils must listen & then try for at least 5 mins to get support. After 2 to 4 wks, the majority rarely need teacher support after trying. It's hard work & progress is maintained, not a quick fix.
Hats off to @jessphillips. Jog on to @elonmusk.
Here's a 🎶 parody of Leonard Cohen's "Bird on the Wire" about Musk's recent spate of diarrhoea tweets about the UK, called "Turd on a Wire."
(With an attempted nod to the wonderful @kdlang arrangement of the song)
@AnnaFazack1 What about the overt bullying & discrimination of menopausal teaching mums. The DoE does not value excellent classroom pedagogy. We need All SLT to have a minimum number of weekly teaching hours to stop the decline in the teaching profession & prioritise spend in the classrooms
“Women teachers say: ‘You want me to put children first, but not my children.’”
Bridget Phillipson pushes home working & more flexibility in bid to stem flood of teachers including thousands of mums in their 30s out of the profession. https://t.co/dvgLpe7FQy
We can confirm that specialist officers from our Counter-Extremism Unit are examining Elon Musk's inflammatory messages on X
We have been instructed by the Home Office to ramp up the monitoring of the world richest man's posts in order to analyse the risk they pose to the safety and security of the United Kingdom of Great Britain

@MartinSLewis I paid into my pension for many years knowing I would retire at 60yrs. Why was this not legally binding?
Many, many payments later, I was told it would be 65 years. Now it will be 67 years...I've got 11 years to go. I need to work until STA. Only just got out of the bottom 10%

Let's have a Rejoin the EU referendum at the same time?
Six million people signed that petition
You're a farmer in your 60s and have assets worth millions. You're worried that your kids might have to pay tax on their inheritance. But you don't trust them enough to sign those assets over to them, avoiding any tax at all if you live another 7 years. Is that not a bit weird?
@michael_merrick But what if there were no independent schools? All those good teachers would be in state schools .. there would be parents with more money for the PTA .. there would be more equal opportunities for all surely? There would be brighter children next to ones who struggle?
These are the lads from Kingswood Homes and Southport Mosque who’ve spent the afternoon working together to rebuild the wall. An amazing effort! @MENnewsdesk
