🚨 PETER LYNCH ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH WARREN BUFFETT:
"I pick up the phone. 'This is Warren Buffett from Omaha, Nebraska. My annual report's due in 2 weeks. I love your quote. Can I use it?' He says, 'If you don't come to Omaha and see me, your name will be mud in Nebraska.'"
The quote Buffett wanted:
"Getting rid of your winners and holding the losers is like watering the weeds and cutting the flowers."
On what makes Buffett the best:
"Imagine, he bought Apple 8 years after I was in it and made 5 fold. And he had a huge position in IBM going down, and he said, 'I love stocks going down. I think IBM's great.' He totally reversed. He got the hell out of IBM."
"He's the best. There's no question about it."
Until recently, I often felt that contemporary philosophers had become equivalent to LLMs: stringing words together to complete the prompts, summarizing and rehashing past ideas, but falling short of novel creative insight and coherent proof. Now, I am no longer so pessimistic about the LLMs.
