Update on the DTLA Su*cide:
I’ve received several as yet unverified reports that the woman who tragically committed su*cide by leaping from the 7th story of a building at 12th and Grand Saturday morning Aug 29th was a 32 year old Brazilian woman who had been suffering an ongoing mental health crisis.
She was reportedly a resident of the building she leapt off of and it was apparently her family, who had flown in from Brazil to try to help, who called 911 that morning when her condition grew more erratic and she wasn’t responding.
The continuing theme is that this was a woman who was beloved by her friends and family who are understandably deeply traumatized at, not just her loss, but the very public and tragic manner in which she died.
May she RIP and may her friends and family find peace knowing they did everything they could do to help and support her until the end.
I won’t be releasing the name given to me out of respect for the family and law enforcement’s investigation. It is believed the LA County coroner should release the name when their report is complete and all respective next of kin have been notified.
Tragic. If you’re struggling with your mental health, please reach out to someone for help. It doesn’t have to end this way.
Saylor Hayes and her brother were removed and placed into foster care in July 2023.
The children were given hair follicle tests. They tested positive for methamphetamine and methadone.
DSS did a drug test on John and Geordyn Hayes. John was positive for methadone. Geordyn tested positive for both methamphetamine and methadone. Both parents had cards for the methadone clinic.
When asked how the children were exposed, both Geordyn and John said they had no clue. 🙄
Just curious why Saylor Hayes was returned to the custody of her parents. Once again, this was a preventable tragedy.
🚨 BREAKING: The Lindsay Clancy jury has ONCE AGAIN sent a note to the judge saying they're DEADLOCKED
The judge is now reading them a Tuey-Rodriguez charge, and will send them BACK to deliberate again
Here's what a Tuey-Rodriguez charge entails, as read by the judge:
- A jury verdict is the principal way facts are decided in a criminal case.
- Absolute certainty cannot be expected.
- Each juror’s verdict must reflect their own convictions, not mere agreement with the majority.
- Jurors should listen with an open mind and give proper respect to others’ opinions.
- It is desirable that the case be decided.
- There is no reason to think another jury would be more intelligent, impartial, or competent, or that better evidence would appear.
- Jurors have a duty to decide the case if they can conscientiously do so.
- The Commonwealth still bears the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
🚨INCREDIBLE: In November 2022, Edwin Castro won the largest Powerball jackpot in history — $2.04 billion — with a ticket bought at a gas station in Altadena, California.
In January 2025, the Eaton Fire devastated the same community. Thousands of structures were destroyed and many families were forced to decide whether they could afford to rebuild.
Castro started buying the burned lots.
He has purchased 15 fire-damaged properties for around $10 million. His goal is not to flip them for maximum profit or turn them into rentals. He plans to rebuild mostly single-family homes that fit the character of the old neighborhood and sell them to people who actually intend to live there, keeping profits reasonable.
By May 2026, two of the homes were already under construction. Three of the properties are also planned to be donated to the Greenline Housing Foundation to help preserve homeownership for families affected by the fire.
The gas station where Castro bought his winning ticket survived the fire.
Years after that ticket changed his life, part of the fortune is now being invested back into the community where it all began.
A powerful full-circle story of winning big — and giving back.
You were fantastic today on JLL I spit my water out of my mouth and almost choked from laughing when you said call ice brilliance at its best
@pattistanger
The mayor of Santa Ana talking about how the homeless get arrested if they refuse services
Why aren’t you doing this @KarenBassLA ??
Every city in SoCal seems to be waking up except for here in la … still doing the same old failed things while neighborhoods go downhill ..
Ok. I can’t believe this just happened. My kid is sitting in a beach chair with his hand casually in the sand, & suddenly goes “oh my god look.” He pulls up a girls wedding band. It says “April 16, 2016 I love you.” This was gone FOREVER until now. Seagrove, Fla…Find this lady!
The anger and frustration are justified. The official vote count says @spencerpratt fell short of the general election, due to the surge of mail-in ballots that shifted the results at the last moment. But this fight is far from over.
There is a direct, legal path for him to become Mayor: a recall of whoever wins in November. Both Bass and Raman are cut from the same ideological cloth, and public dissatisfaction with their records is already widespread.
Here are the facts on timing and process:
The new Mayor will be sworn in on December 14. California law requires 3-month waiting period before a recall can begin. That opens the window in mid-March 2027 to file Notice of Intention.
Circulation of petitions starts 28 days later. We then have 120 days to gather approximately 330,000 valid signatures—15 percent of registered Los Angeles voters. Once certified, the City Council must schedule the special recall election within 88 to 125 days.
On that ballot, voters will decide whether to remove the Mayor and, if so, select a replacement. Spencer’s name will be on it, backed by the bipartisan momentum that has grown sharply since the mail-in ballot issues surfaced. The recalled mayor CANNOT run to replace herself. They’re DONE. And DSA/communists wouldn’t dare run someone against their own people. A blank slate - an election without Bass OR Raman is >50% answer “YES” to the recall question.
Angelenos across party lines now see the pattern, and both potential incumbents remain deeply unpopular.
This is how we correct the outcome. The energy and organization already exist. And unlike the local political machine, we can fundraise nationally—supporters from every corner of the country who want to see real change in Los Angeles can contribute directly. AND stay ahead of real or potential fraud this time.
The path is clear. The support is building. We have the opportunity to set this right.
