🧠Cerebral T waves
Frequently caused by subarachnoid hemorrhage, intraparenchymal hemorrhage, and sometimes massive ischemic strokes.
🔺Thought to occur due to increased central nervous system tone but it is not completely understood. Can also have neuro stunned myocardium
Beta blockers are common medications that we see in patients. Remember the mnemonic “BAD FISH”.

Want to remember the order of your heart valves in regards to blood flow? Try this mnemonic:
“Try Pulling My Aorta”
1️⃣ Tricuspid valve
2️⃣ Pulmonic valve
3️⃣ Mitral valve
4️⃣ Aortic valve

Preeclampsia occurs when there is new onset hypertension (>140/90) typically after 20 weeks gestation ➕ protein iris or protein:Cr >0.3
OR
New onset hypertension with end organ dysfunction.

Displacement (ensure not in right mainstem or displaced into esophagus)
Obstruction (kink in tubing or mucus plug)
Pneumothorax (order X-ray/US)
Equipment failure (trouble shoot)
Rigidity of chest (due to fentanyl use)

Adenosine can be used therapeutically or as a diagnostic device tool.
MOA:
Works on the four adenosine receptors in the body. Slows AV node conduction time and interrupts AV re-entry pathways. It can have vasodilator effect for cardiac stress testing.

Brown-Sequard syndrome occurs due to hemisection of the spinal cord. Common causes include trauma, abscess/tumor.
Classic findings:
1️⃣ Loss of pain/temperature on the contralateral side
2️⃣ Hemiparesis on ipsilateral side
3️⃣ Loss of vibration/proprioception on ipsilateral side
The big box method is a down and dirty way of calculating heart rate. This can only be done with regular rhythms
How to do it:
Find a QRS that aligns with a large box
Find the next QRS and see how many big boxes it is from the next.

Lead III and aVL are best friends when it comes to their reciprocalness. They are nearly 180 degrees from each other. I like to see them as best friends because when there is an issue in one of them, I immediately look to the other for reciprocal changes.
