Thank you so much to the amazing audiences at the @glasgowfilm for making yesterday's two sold-out screenings of @RunningManMovie so enjoyable and memorable. We had a great time shooting in the city and I had wanted to come back and do a proper Q&A since the film was released late last year. Winding down my mini-tour promoting the Blu-Ray and Steelbook release, I couldn't think of a better jaunt than me coming back up. Thanks to Paul Gallagher and all the staff at Glasgow Film Theatre for making it happen. I had a blast.

I’m looking at the young team coming up in Scottish comedy, now that I’m kinda making my way out of the scene, and I’m filled with a kind of sadness and frustration. I don’t think we’ve ever had so much great talent and yet so few opportunities for them to pursue.

I’m thinking back to when Burnistoun first aired. At that time, we had a six episode series. At the same time, we had Limmy with Limmy’s Show, and Greg McHugh with Tank Commander. They had full series too. We all had MULTIPLE series.

The scene is MUCH stronger now, I think - no harm to any of us I’ve mentioned (we’re all geniuses obviously) - but I just can’t see a future where you’d see three series like that, with new people in them, all running at the same time.

I’m being completely serious when I say that I think comedy is what we’re best at in Scotland. We need more spend up here. More risk-taking from broadcasters. More opportunities for talent to get things wrong so that they can work out how to get things right.

I’m focusing on drama and horror now, but comedy will always be my home. If I was a billionaire I’d start my own TV station and I’d be able to commission about ten series from new Scottish comedians off the top of my head. They’d all be funny. You’d love them.

I’m not a billionaire, or a millionaire, or many aires below that, so somebody else needs to do it. Please!

🇬🇧 UK has not investigated a single British citizen where there is evidence of participation in Israeli war crimes in Gaza

🇬🇧 UK has not in any way applied the 2024 ICJ ruling on Israel’s unlawful policies and practices
🇬🇧 UK has suppressed and continues to attempt to suppress protest against Israeli war crimes
