It's been a long time since I put out any new music, but I've been sitting on a lot of scraps from over the pandemic and want to start getting them out into the world this year.
Here is the first, a cheery pop song about paralyzing fear:

@RoeshaGodbolt It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been at it, only if you’re making forward progress with your writing. If so, it’s a matter of time regardless of where you live, so just be in the place that makes you happy right now. Giving up is the only way to ensure failure.
Excited to announce that I'll be teaching a Feature Development Lab for @ScriptAnatomy starting on Jan 26th. The class will take your idea from concept to outline over 6 weeks. A great way to start the new year!

@DouglasAllen There’s a space for art house films but there isn’t really a market for art house screenplays. Art house film is a directors niche, dominated by auteurs. Expecting a studio to buy and package such a script is the long shot of all long shots.
@gabebraxton Aim higher. Being a “solid asset” sounds a bit too close to saying your goal is to do what’s already been done. As far as breaking in is concerned, that’s not going to cut it. Lots of people can do that. Taking risks is how you generate interest.
@joerussotweets All working writers know this, anyone claiming otherwise is searching for an excuse to not have to put their work out in the world for fear of rejection. Would love to get my hands on this masterpiece though.
@corybantic_lad A big misconception about STC is that it’s prescriptive as opposed to descriptive. All he’s doing is pointing out similarities in the structures of these successful movies, not demanding that all movies must be written this way. His analyses are spot on, plenty to learn from it.
@garrettiswright Talk it out, find the “note behind the note”. There is almost always a compromise to be made if you’re dealing with reasonable people.
