Friday morning I'll be in a Visalia park with a group of kids from nine to noon. Three protected hours tell a kid what words can't: your body matters, your mind matters, and being with you isn't what I do after everything else. Your kids are worth the time. Walk with them.
If this were my last day, I would spend it at the park with my kids and theirs — moving and laughing, teaching and learning. Session this Friday 9–12 at Soroptimist Park.
When I hear stuff like this, I ask: what is the one simple action I can take today, and every day for the rest of my life to make the world better? I think it’s this: become a magnet for people (especially kids), and then funnel them to voices with sounds judgement. There is a beautiful world outside of the bubble.
You nailed it! My wife and I have this discussion constantly.
Societal norms create fear when not adhered to.
In addition, every opportunity that arises seems valuable (sports, music, learning, friend group A, friend group B, my side of the family, her side of the family, this podcast said this, or this podcast said that, etc).
Friday morning is already on my calendar: three hours in a Visalia park moving with kids. It went in first, before anything got a chance to crowd it out. Look at your week. What is the least important thing that repeats every week and still lands ahead of your family?
I have been seeing your posts and thinking: “who is this guy? Home runs every post”…
then I looked at your bio: synthesis.
It all makes sense. My son started synthesis teams last month… absolutely loves it. Now my other son is begging to do it. Thank you very much. You will be responsible for creating the greatest period in human existence.
@Cernovich $10/gal diesel can only last for so long before it all starts to crumble.. “Hearings” will be completely overshadowed by the economy falling apart. They won’t need to invent any wrongdoing: This is legitimate failure with evidence
@bhorowitz Thank you for leading the charge. Little matters if we aren’t on the forefront of education.
What is the number one tangible thing to teach kids (K-6th grade)? I will implement this week.
First, your book changed my life. Thank you. Second, what’s the number one thing to prepare kids for the future (K-6th grade)?
I’m a novice on a mission .. my goal is to ask intelligent successful people like yourself what to do, and then do it. I have a group of kids on Friday.. give me your best advice and I will implement immediately.
The days I miss the three hours with my kids, nothing big takes them. A pile of small stuff does. Twenty minutes gets squeezed. Three hours is a wall the small stuff can't get past. Your kids are worth the time. Walk with them.
@AlexHormozi Alex what is the single most important thing we can do for kids K - 6th grade? Gov me something tangible, as in I will implement this week. I’m on a mission to help kids… my plan is ask intelligent successful people like you what to teach, and then start doing it.
