One #Toronto-area resident, who survived a violent home invasion, told @GlobalNews that leaving his keys available to thieves wasn't 'a solution,' especially in light of the anti-theft measures he already had in place. "And then having those people get the keys and not being able to steal my car successfully, forcing them to come up and put a Glock 9mm to my head, that's not a good solution," he said.

Data collected by @TorontoPolice shows auto thefts have risen to 4x the rate recorded in 2015, from 3,000 to more than 12,000 cases in 2023. Residential thefts and carjackings have also risen in step during the same period.

Feeling as though Liberal politicians and law enforcement won't, or can't, protect them, Peter says he and his neighbours plan to take matters into their own hands.
