The very first promise of a Savior was spoken in the Garden of Eden while Adam and Eve stood ashamed before God. Genesis 3:15
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will bruise his heel.” That single sentence is the whole gospel in one line.
“Her seed” - the first hint of the virgin birth
In the entire Old Testament, descendants are always called the seed of a man and never the seed of a woman.
This is the only exception.
God is already telling us the coming Rescuer will have a human mother but no human father.
Victory through suffering
The serpent will bruise His heel (He will suffer and die).
He will crush the serpent’s head (He will rise and destroy Satan forever).
Isaiah 7:14 makes it plain (700–1,400 years later)
“Behold, the virgin will conceive and bear a Son, and they will call His name Immanuel : God with us.”
Now we know the woman in Genesis 3:15 is a virgin, and her child is literally God in human flesh.
The royal requirement
God promised David an everlasting throne (2 Samuel 7:12–16). Therefore the same child who is the seed of the woman and Immanuel must also be a true descendant and legal heir of King David.
The New Testament gives two family records that solve this perfectly: Matthew chapter 1 traces Joseph’s legal royal line: Abraham → David → Solomon → the kings of Judah → Joseph → Jesus. This makes Jesus the rightful king.
Luke chapter 3 traces Mary’s blood line: Adam → David → Nathan (another son of David) → Mary → Jesus. This puts David’s actual blood in Jesus through His mother.
Because Jesus was virgin-born, He is the seed of the woman alone, David’s real descendant through Mary, and David’s royal heir through Joseph. No one else in history has ever been all three at once.
Why did God choose the Jewish people?
God says plainly it was not because they were great or numerous: Deuteronomy 7:7–8
“The Lord did not choose you because you were more in number , you were the fewest of all peoples. He chose you because He loved you and because He keeps the promise He made to your fathers.”
The real reasons:
a) To keep His promise to Abraham that “in your seed all nations of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3; 22:18). The blessing for the whole world (Jesus) had to come through Abraham’s family.
b) To protect the message, God needed one nation to guard the Scriptures, receive the prophecies, and preserve the exact family line the Messiah had to come from (Romans 3:2; 9:4–5).
c) To show salvation is by grace alone , by choosing the smallest and most stubborn nation, God made it clear the plan was His work, not human merit.
d) To make the Messiah unmistakable , by narrowing the promise step by step (Abraham → Isaac → Jacob → Judah → Jesse → David → a virgin in Bethlehem), only one person could ever fit every detail.
Every promise perfectly fulfilled in Jesus
Seed of the woman (no human father) → fulfilled when Mary, a virgin, gave birth to Jesus.
The virgin will conceive → fulfilled exactly as Isaiah said (Matthew 1:18–25; Luke 1:34–35).
Called “God with us” → fulfilled because Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:14).
Descendant of Abraham → both Matthew and Luke trace His line through Abraham.
From the tribe of Judah → Jesus belonged to the tribe of Judah (Hebrews 7:14).
Son of David and legal king → blood through Mary, throne-right through Joseph’s adoption.
Born in Bethlehem, the city of David → fulfilled when Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem (Luke 2:4–7).
Crushes the serpent’s head → fulfilled when Jesus died and rose again, defeating Satan forever (Colossians 2:15; Hebrews 2:14).
The gospel begins in Genesis 3:15.
God chose the Jewish people, not because they deserved it, but because of His promise and His grace, so that through their line He could send the promised Savior.
That Savior is Jesus: the seed of the woman, born of a Jewish virgin, descendant and heir of David, Immanuel, God with us, who was wounded for our sins, rose from the dead, crushed the serpent’s head, and now offers forgiveness and eternal life to every person on earth, Jew and Gentile alike.
This is who the elected leaders of the Democratic Party are in their own words. SUPERCUT.
I call out my side every single day. If you are not ready to call this out, to fight back against it and demand better from the people you vote for you have no business saying anything about wanting to tone down the division, violence and murder in this country.
You can vote for Democrats and you can hate Republican policies but if you don’t call out this insane rhetoric, don’t be surprised at what happens to this country because every action has a reaction and you can’t get it together and hold your own sides accountable, we’re going to devolve into anarchy.
This is what radicalizes people to commit violence.
Being told you are at war, you must pick up arms and fight in the street.
10 years of this is what culminates in the assassination of a young father and husband. A man of God and a better human being than most.
