For the first time in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more than 90,000 missionaries are now serving throughout the world—including 30,000 young women serving as full-time missionaries. The increase in missionary service is one of several indicators of growing participation among the Church’s youth and young adults. Missionaries are the best! Here's a spiritual thought from my nephews' email this week.
"This week in our class after church they were taking about praying out loud and some guy asked but if we pray out loud then don't we let Satan know the things as well. And then the old AP was actually visiting our branch with his parents and he mentioned the first great commandment how praying out loud is trusting more in God than fearing Satan. I think this is so applicable in our lives, sometimes we don't feel our prayers work and sometimes it doesn't seem worth it but the whole test is if we’re going to trust God more than ourselves or how much we fear the adversary."
Like 11:9-10
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”
-Elder Christensen
Congratulations @jordanchri on opening Christensen's in St. George. Continuing the heritage Grandpa Alten started in 1929 and our Dad carried on! When you're in St George this fall go say hi (and you might even find a picture of teenage me with hair)
If you read 6 pages of the Book Of Mormon every day, you’ll finish it 4 times a year. My dad did this for decades. A core high school memories are coming home after midnight and there dad was reading the Book of Mormon waiting for me to get home.
The General Conference we convened today was remarkable because it began with what we call a Solemn Assembly. For more than a century this has been an event of great significance to members of the Church.
In a Solemn Assembly, we vote to sustain members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in this Assembly voting by quorums and groups. We do this only in the first conference where a new president and prophet of the Church has been called.
I am grateful to be among those whose callings are formally recognized in this way, and appreciate your participation in this significant occasion.
I express our gratitude as leaders of the Church for our members’ sustaining vote, prayers, and support. We also pray for you to be guided and prospered as you continue the great service you give to the children of God throughout the world.
At this Easter season, I reaffirm our testimony of the Resurrected Lord and recognize that He is the head of this Church. We pray for His blessings upon this conference and upon all of you.

The King of kings was born for you. Not in a palace but in a stable. Not into riches but into love. His arrival brought hope to a weary world—and it still does.
Today is the birthday of my wonderful wife, Kristen. How I love her and how grateful I am for our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness for our families. Our relationship to God and the purpose of our mortal life are explained in terms of the family.
Great blessings come to families if they pray together, kneeling night and morning to offer thanks for blessings and to pray over common concerns. #GeneralConference
Brothers and sisters, I feel truly humbled to be celebrating my 101st birthday with my children so close—whether in person or forever in my heart.
Even though those pictured are all adults with children, grandchildren, and even a great grandchild of their own, I still feel the tenderness I felt for them when they were small enough to rock in my arms.
From then to now, I’ve done my best to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ. The glad tidings I have taught them are the same lessons I have often shared with you.
God is our Father. We are His children. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. This is His Church, which is reflected in the name He gave it. It is only through Jesus Christ’s Atonement that we can repent of our sins and return to God’s presence.
We will find joy in life as we “think celestial” and follow the covenant path that begins with baptism and leads us to The House of The Lord. God speaks to us when we make the effort to hear Him. The world needs peacemakers, so please be kind.
Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for expressing gratitude. Thank you for your prayers. You inspire me to strive to become a better disciple of Jesus Christ.

For more than three decades I have been tutored and taught by President Russell M. Nelson. I stood on a hill with him in Budapest, Hungary, where he spoke prophetically about the future of Eastern Europe.
I have bowed my head with him as he prayed in perfect Portuguese, breaking ground for the Curitiba Brazil Temple.
I stood by his side in Montreal, Canada, as he explained to reporters why we prefer the full name of the Church.
I have been lifted as he has testified of Jesus Christ. I have knelt with him in prayer. He has blessed me with his hands on my head. He has counseled me with love and inspiration.
I was in the room as our hands were upon his head as he was ordained and set apart on January 14, 2018, as the President of the Church.
I confirm in humility and truth through hundreds of experiences that he is the Lord’s prophet upon the earth. I love him and am so grateful for his 101st birthday. Happy birthday, President Nelson! #PresidentNelson101

President and Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a world-renowned heart surgeon dies Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025
“I have learned that the most crucial question we each must answer is this: To whom or to what will I give my life?” said President Nelson, speaking during October 2024 general conference just weeks after his 100th birthday. “My decision to follow Jesus Christ is the most important decision I have ever made.”
