@Headteacherchat Break goals down in more manageable, achievable steps(targets) Establish good, open communication between you both. Maybe it takes a little longer but better than making them disheartened and negative. Good luck!

@Headteacherchat Get to know the chair of governors. Have regular termly chats and first on the agenda for 30 mins are confidential Budgets and Boilers as I term them. Eg get it off your chest chat then focus on the more positive things. I did this as a head and now do it as a chair. ๐
@Headteacherchat It can be. Be outward looking and ring local heads and invite them for a coffee or ask if you can go to them for a look around to get context of the area. Also, look for a school Improvement Partner that will visit at least 3 times a year to discuss the school and the direction.
@Headteacherchat Iโd leave it with the legal department until you know what they are about you cannot possibly reply. If itโs a safeguarding issue the LADO will get involved and contact you or may trigger an inspection. If general concerns the Ofsted team may discuss at the next inspection.
