It’s sufficiently horrific that we have to put up with this loathsome degenerate yet again. It’s even worse that we have to share oxygen with the 77 million who think he’s the best we can do.
This interactive was inspired by the classic PhET Lunar Lander simulator, which died along with its Flash coding. Hope you give it a try, and share the link with anyone who might use it! https://t.co/WfgHEvwEqr
This interactive was inspired by my friend https://t.co/fH4NT0gEFT 's "Dock the Rocket". If I were still teaching physics, I would use for Kinematics and Newton's Laws lessons. Hope you give it a try, and share the link with anyone who might use it! https://t.co/KPpQcMudtH
This election is not just about Trump & Harris. It is a referendum on where we are at as a people. As a society. Are we a nation whose majority is dark, nasty, crude, fearful, misogynist, xenophobic, racist, conspiracy theorists; or are most of us better than that. We will see.

Here's the latest physics interactive. This does not have any specific challenges built in, but was useful for me to illustrate basic trig relationships during a tutoring session.

If you are Black, it's not safe to call the police for help and be cooking when they show up. Why? Because we some cops who enjoy shooting people. Being Black increases your odds considerably. Do you have a sure fire way to know whether the cop who shows up to "help" you, is one of those cops? Yeah. Me either.
It's well past time for a hell of a lot more White people to call this out. This is also our problem. We also live in this country, yes? If we aren't demanding changes as vigorously as people of color are demanding, we are contributing to the problem.
The FBI has long known police departments across the nation have White Supremacists working as law enforcement officers. It's not a secret.
Would a White woman having a mental health crisis who called the police for help have been killed because she was holding a pot in her kitchen? The Jack Hopkins Magic 8 Ball says, "Are you fucking kidding me? Hell no!"
10/ And it means that all of us have a role to play.
Yes, this moment feels scary because it is. But this violence...this unraveling...is a result of choices we have made. And we can make different choices.
This isn't a time to retreat. It's a time to lean forward.
We live in a time when the repercussions for a Dem having a cold, losing his train of thought once, being a lifelong stutterer who sometimes debates poorly, are endless and immediate. While political repercussions for rape, fraud, insurrection, and pathological lies do not exist.
175/ President Biden won this debate, and it is not close.
He won on the facts, he won on memory, he won on history, he won on policy, he won on details, he won on being more presidential. Trump rambled, evaded questions, would not give specifics on anything and lied repeatedly.
CONCLUSION/ Unlike many Democrats, I never really wish—publicly or privately—for Democrats to act more like Republicans. I don’t want that. But it’s certainly disappointing that Biden won on substance and Democratic lawmakers and politicos are buying into sad style-only analyses.
A few people have asked why I vehemently oppose Trump.
Let me make this perfectly clear. It's not about politics. I've voted for both parties.
It's about me, as a patriot, rejecting a cheating, lying, racist, treasonous, fascist, and vile man who attacks the free press, and wants to lead the country I love.
It's really that simple.
Here's the latest physics interactive. It would make my day if any of my former students could prove their mastery of vector components by giving it a try!
"Donald Trump is nothing but an amalgam of tactics with hair." This distillation of the man from @Dahlialithwick in @Slate is a) chef's kiss and b) so true. Please read this. We can't rely on the rule of law to save us from Trump II. Only the people can.

It's been a minute... but here's the next interactive page to my website!
It allows physics students to look at forces from gravity and friction, as well as the "normal force" from a surface--in two different ways. Hope it helps!

Well, Christmas, Christmas trees, and Christmas presents aren’t in the Bible. Neither is the date Jesus was born. We’re all winging this deal together.
A Democrat was in the White House when my family was sent to the internment camps in 1941. It was an egregious violation of our human and civil rights.
It would have been understandable if people like me said they’d never vote for a Democrat again, given what had been done to us.
But being a liberal, being a progressive, means being able to look past my own grievances and concerns and think of the greater good. It means working from within the Democratic party to make it better, even when it has betrayed its values.
I went on to campaign for Adlai Stevenson when I became an adult. I marched for civil rights and had the honor of meeting Dr. Martin Luther King. I fought for redress for my community and have spent my life ensuring that America understood that we could not betray our Constitution in such a way ever again.
Bill Clinton broke my heart when he signed DOMA into law. It was a slap in the face to the LGBTQ community. And I knew that we still had much work to do. But I voted for him again in 1996 despite my misgivings, because the alternative was far worse. And my obligation as a citizen was to help choose the best leader for it, not to check out by not voting out of anger or protest.
There is no leader who will make the decision you want her or him to make 100 percent of the time. Your vote is a tool of hope for a better world. Use it wisely, for it is precious. Use it for others, for they are in need of your support, too.
"Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual." - Carl Sagan.
