Police are searching for two or three Black males who carjacked a victim in McComb, MS, then drove the stolen car to a Hammond, LA gas station and riddled another car with bullets at point-blank range.

State Trooper Christopher Baldner pulls over a family SUV for speeding on the Thruway.
Driver Tristin Goods refuses to show ID and escalates the stop. Trooper uses pepper spray.
Driver floors it and flees at high speed.
Trooper follows training and uses pit maneuver to ram the vehicle and stop the threat.
The SUV crashes. Goods’ own 11-year-old daughter Monica is tragically killed.
Result?
Trooper Baldner was just sentenced to ~7 years in prison for manslaughter.
The father - who caused the deadly chase - walks free after claiming he was “scared for his life.”

@The_Real_Bjorn1 I recall writing one to a 19 year old son of a state agency officer because I saw him one night turn off his headlights and fly through a 4-way stop at 50 mph speed. The kid didn't have much to say but the next day his daddy found me and really showed out. Dad later paid it.
🚔 A few times in my career I issued a ticket to a family member of another law enforcement officer. Each time, the officer (or their family member) came at me angry and confrontational. One flat-out told me writing tickets to other cops’ families was “a disgrace.”

@ABC This is very common. I used to be a volunteer fire chief and an arson investigator. One of the firemen on my own department set a vacant house on fire one night. I caught him because he called 911 to report it anonymously and I recognized his voice on the call recording.
