@JWhitebread1@BridgetPhetasy Yeah, but they then rejected all science and Islamic culture really fell of a cliff. More books are translated into Spanish each year than are written in the Arab world in like 3.
I forget but Ba'athism was supposed to be a pan-Arab/Islamic socialist utopia wasn't it?
@Hotchkiz@KimballCall While sad, that's anecdotal. All my friends an I have stayed strong in the Church after BYU. So from my perspective it works 100% to strengthen faith.
The truth is that many people follow their own path with or without BYU.
Though I'm sure certain departments were infected.
@realbenbriggs Almost as if you need to show not tell. Just telling us something is so, without providing evidence is normal discussion. Just because you have an old tradition doesn't mean we have to accept it as correct.
Maybe learn how to interact with people who don't always agree with you
@TheCriticalDri2 Any benefits are outweighed by it's massive negative social impacts.
Every major issue Soldiers had while I served were either due to alcohol or exacerbated by it.
I've seen it destroy too many families to be blasé about it.
@Hotchkiz@DecisionDeskHQ One problem I see is that politically active people on X don't realize how disconnected average folks are from political drama. And so we think our opinions are shared by all.
I think the local news being so "controversy adverse" is part of that problem.
@realDrTT Why is this such a hard concept? I'm totally fine with people not sharing my beliefs. It doesn't insult me. I enjoy learning about Catholicism, Judaism etc. even the parts I don't personally believe in. I really like seeing where we all share truths though.
@LDSLaw@GHHILL1911 I don't understand how the prime minister resigning doesn't trigger an election. I guess since they didn't directly effect him, he's just an MP...
Just seems like- leader of elected party resigns because of unpopularity- but nothing else needs to change.
@realDrTT@plasmarob Concern is definitely warranted but of l black pilling is for the lazy and hopeless. Plenty of Americans still love their country. Maybe visit some new areas
@joyinbecomingp1 There are ways around this. Download it and change it's format. I did this with so my Kindle ebooks and now they are epubs stored on my own PCs.
Pretty easy to do, especially in Linux.
@RodRuiz14@joshnaa2gez Hieratic: A cursive, modified form of hieroglyphics used for formal documents on papyrus.
Demotic: A later, highly cursive script used for daily administrative and literary purposes.
Coptic: The final stage of the Egyptian language, written using a modified Greek alphabet.
@realDrTT@nicoraytruth I grew up with my grandparents drinking coffee and never thought much of it except I didn't care for the smell.
But after 10 years in the army I rather despise it. You guys don't realize how childish so many adults act because they "needed" coffee. Immature behavior normalized
