If <50% was used to produce green hydrogen Shetland could have become 100% energy independent & would have a level of resilience capable of dealing with the worst the weather could throw at it. Instead, it's all being exported to England. @ShetIslandsCll

Scotland's North Sea Oil & Gas has made quite a miraculous recovery since 2014 when we were told it was running out and couldn't be relied upon. It's now set to 'power up Britain'. With our renewable electricity being transferred south, how fortunate for England that we voted No.
The money the Tories spaffed on Test & Trace would have paid for a 15% pay rise for every NHS worker from now until 2058.
They took that money & gave it to their pals.
I see this as the most important of all issues: the collapse of the Earth systems on we and all the living wonders with which we share this planet depend. It is happening in front of our eyes, and it should dominate the news everywhere, every day. https://t.co/XckVrtLbjN

WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON
Where to begin?

The CEO of Shell has called on the government to tax oil and gas companies in order to protect the poorest people in society from soaring energy costs https://t.co/3ZEBexKwCl
I think people haven’t yet priced in exactly who gains from abolishing the 45p rate…
This isn’t about cuts for people on £150k, or even £200k. Most of the gain goes to those *much* higher up.
I did some further analysis using HMRC data (with @arunadvaniecon and @Summers_AD) 🧵
Nigel Farage asks how independent Scotland will pay the bills then closes the interview when @AngusMacNeilSNP points out the UK hasn’t paid its bills since 1945.
People living in Shetland would need to be earning at least £104,000 a year to avoid fuel poverty. The stark warning is from @ShetIslandsCll & estimates by April the average energy cost per year for a household will be over £10,000, double that of the rest of the UK

The rail strike isn’t only about rail workers.
This strike is coming first because the RMT is the frontline of the organised working class.
If they win, millions of workers will feel emboldened to fight for a pay rise. And the establishment knows it.
More than £100,000,000,000 of public money has gone to non-NHS healthcare providers over the past decade, including to the likes of Richard Branson's Virgin Care.
If the Tories had instead invested that money in the NHS and its workforce, the army wouldn't need to be called in.
• The number of UK Billionaires has grown by 490% under the Tories.
• People using food banks has grown by 5,852% under the Tories.
I believe a wealth tax could fix this.
