@KenSimCity Please make Granville a pedestrian zone every summer. What you and your council have done for the World Cup has been a boom where I work, and we have hired lots of extra staff. The economic gains are huge.
False. They’re already lying to you
820 = actual closure tracked by CoV
257 = Closures only reported in media stories tracked by https://t.co/nwOclQBYth. This number includes Vancouver businesses, and does not represent businesses “in the rest of the lower mainland”
Business vacancy has declined from 11.9% to 9.9% under Ken Sim in the same reporting period. Data is actually showing measured improvement
To the entire MSM of Canada:
I absolutely DARE you to dig into this case to find out how an employer who was fined for hiring a foreign worker for a non-existent business remains eligible to hire foreign workers.

@BrowntoBure Ever since it was opened as an SRO, I've seen first responders going there everyday. That and the 2 other SROs nearby cant be closed fast enough. The buildings should be demoed
The Whitecaps situation and a potential MLB bid in Vancouver are separate conversations.
The City has already taken meaningful steps to support the Caps from signing the MOU to working with BC Place. Beyond direct financial support, there are limits to what municipalities should be doing.
In a best-case scenario, Vancouver lands both: a stable future for the Whitecaps and new investment through MLB.
Right now, the Mayor and Council are doing what they should, engaging the business community and exploring opportunities that strengthen the city’s economy.
There’s also more capital out there than people assume. Big projects require serious investment, but that doesn’t mean they’re unrealistic. it just means they need the right partners and structure.

@PeterMeiszner W 10th from Alma to Sasamat has been in terrible shape for the last three years and has so many potholes right now. The road is cracked all over the place and really needs a full repaving. 12th between Kingsway and Ontario is terrible too for how warped it is.
