@toyo_489 yeah ofc im being dramatic, the public transit is excellent in the big cities from my experience. its still very nice to live in tokyo in terms of infrastructure!

@FaXistic parallel technological line? its not even on a technological line, its given up on the competition. before we even talk about AI let's get them to stop using spreadsheets and fax machines. nothing ventured nothing gained, and the Japanese are venturing nothing

will also be fair that not all europe is like this, German switzerland has been relatively good, but europeans in general have limited race consciousness compared w/ America where it's drilled into us in school

ask a black frenchman where he's really from and he'll prolly tell you about his parents, hell often they're upfront about their background, as a white frenchman where he's really from and he'll punch you

really normalized outside of the US but rightfully seen as racist in US

for me this was a huge culture shock leaving the US, america has a race problem but at least we're sensitive towards treating ppl differently bc of their skin color, whereas most places dont have the same sensitivity
