@AaronWardDene I really dislike the term. Most definitions seem pretty muddy. But mostly, it strikes me that reducing the intersection of different movements & struggles aimed at positive change to one label, no matter what it is, does them all a pretty tremendous disservice.
While taking a leak at the Ottawa Int. Airport, I found tampons and maxi pads in the men’s room.
This shit isn’t real. I still don’t believe it. I’m in the Matrix.
A real challenge with #abpoli is that there are a million spaces where we talk about what we DON’T want our politics to be…
But relatively few spaces where we talk about what we DO want our politics to be.
If we want to move forward, that need to change.
#ableg
Preface: I’m not supporting any campaign (& may not publicly).
I’m w/ you on predators etc. I disagree on Lib MPs.
The #abpoli overlap between ANDP & fed Lib voters is big & needs to get bigger, esp in Calgary.
Creating a winning coalition of voters is the leader’s job #ableg
🙋hands up parents who would rather see @ABDanielleSmith and her govt support families by:
- fixing health care
- funding education
- partnering w/ the feds on programs
- tackling unemployment
Rather than attacking #transkids here and in Saskatchewan
#ableg#abpoli#cdnpoli
Not happy to squash the rights of LGBTQ2S+ youth in “just” Alberta, and believing that governments should be above the judiciary…
The UCP is expanding its war on kids to Saskatchewan as well…

Let me be clear - I am very ideological when it comes to protecting Albertans. We'll keep getting shovels in the ground. We'll keep making real progress. And we won't let Ottawa slow us down when it comes to building the homes our communities need.
We don't need federal bribe money, especially when the strings attached will build less homes. We're committed to progress, not to adding more red tape and roadblocks.
“If we exclude the federal funding and the amounts for provincial highways and bridges, then the total provincial capital funding for municipalities in 2024 will be $1.73 billion. This is actually $1 billion less than what the provincial government will take from municipalities through education property taxes this year.”

Any chance we could also introduce legislation preventing lucrative deals between the UCP and their political friends without Albertans’ permission?
I mean, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

Conservatives have been beating the carbon tax drum for years b/c it works.
By running in circles arguing w/ them, we play into their game. Their game. Their rules. They win.
The question we need to ask ourselves is: what should we be talking about to win?
#ableg#abpoli
If, as @JasonNixonAB suggests here, the UCP is genuinely interested in partnering with the federal government on programs that will benefit Albertans…
Does this mean they are reconsidering their knee-jerk rejection of a national pharmacare plan?
#ableg#abpoli
I used to love going to Canyon Meadows Cinema.
However, I can’t support a business that hosts events like this and apparently has a terrible history with regard to LGBTQ2SIA+ rights…

I’m catching up over here, is the “Alberta model” of health care:
- going to war w/ doctors
- attacking nurses
- causing ER wait times to skyrocket
- letting hospitals fall into disrepair
- denying #transkids of their health care needs
Asking for a friend… #ableg#abpoli
Actively isolating you from people who want to help address the issues you are facing and support you getting to a healthier place is classic abuser behaviour.
Just saying… #ableg#abpoli
The Alberta government is considering new legislation to prevent the federal government from going directly to municipalities and providing funding for projects such as housing and transit.

We did… But even at the very best of times, politics is a deeply flawed process (with very real outcomes).
So, we take a moment, and then we get back to the work of trying to make things better and ensure that numbers like this stick #ableg#abpoli
Let’s be real, though.
I’m too much a politico not to wade into #ableg & #abpoli But my focus will be on fighting the anti-trans movement in our province.
That’s an already too long re-introduction. So, let me say it’s nice to be back, out, & standing w/ you in this fight ✊🏻
Aaaaaannnnd… we’re back.
Why are we back after a three year hiatus? Well, it’s time to stand back up and be counted in #abpoli
At a time when Albertans are struggling, @ABDanielleSmith is choosing to do things like attack #transkids
That is unacceptable #ableg
So, that’s why I’m firing this account back up.
To stand up & say: I am a trans Albertan & what @ABDanielleSmith is doing must not stand. It must be fought.
I’ll mostly post pushback against anti-trans content & supporting #transkids in #abpoli b/c #TransRightsAreHumanRights
