@LoewyLawFirm As a lawyer (mostly defense) and football referee (NCAA) I can speak to this. Neither the NCAA nor many states (Federation rules) will adopt SPECIFIC lightning/weather time/distance due to fear of liability issues. Instead of suing, get legislatures to set rules for each state.

@lyndonbajohnson You didn't explain WHY it was in the state's best interests and the large schools are still "all over TX." They aren't in one specific area or even 10. Both Odessa schools are in top 10; Frenship and Valley school(s) top 50; Mineral Wells and Waxahachie top 75. EP top 100.

@ZoltanMesko You're talking about 2 different things. What the refs told you is accurate: the Back Judge is looking at the PLAY clock when it hits 0, he looks to see if the ball is snapped. In that case, they don't want to flag for DOG if they can avoid it. The GAME clock is different.

Ok so here is a little Inside Baseball on sports broadcasts

Any time you see an old fashioned timer in the bottom corner of your screen it is not from the graphics department, it actually is an inserted shot of a camera directly on the game clock

This is something they've been doing since literally the 80s and since it is the actual game clock it is always 100% in sync

You see this all the time in basketball with replays on the shot clock

So in this particular instance, there really is no room for debate - it's not a separate clock that could be out of sync, it is a shot of the actual clock

WMU got screwed plain and simple

@SoundSenseCFB @bigten But NBC allegedly had a view of the actual game clock that read 0:00. NOT their game clock graphic at the bottom of the screen. This was shown on the replays during the review. THAT is what I want reconciled. Either NBC is (we'll just say) wrong or the Big10 is.

@DKeene14449 @hunterschuler I agree with you to some extent, but don't make stuff up: the SCHEDULING was done back in the past (don't know about a year ago -- may have been longer) but the TIME for the game was set recently. Conference/TV sets game times. Missing the game means selling your tix or losing $.

@SoundSenseCFB @bigten Video did NOT show the entire play/clock sequence. That is what I'm saying needs to be shown. One screen shot of 0:01 is NOWHERE NEAR proof of anything. I have no dog in this fight. I am an Aggie and Illini (MS). But I would be ashamed if they pulled this crap for either team.

@SoundSenseCFB @bigten As a 35+ year football and basketball official (including college in both sports) I refuse to accept this until I'm shown the FULL clock on the play -- not just some screen shot of 0:01 with no explanation as to how the other shot of the stadium clock in the replay showed 0:00.

@MicMikeMicMike @espn Something like this has been going on, in a smaller way, for years. The few schools that play, for example, men's soccer, often play in regional leagues outside their conferences. The SEC/Big 10/etc. are NOW built for football and maybe hoops. Everything else should be regional.

@dempsey_andrew @espn Your list has only 4 women's sports, the sum total of athletes would be less than football alone. The way Title 9 is INTERPRETED (not necessarily implemented) requires the same numbers for women, so they can't cut gymnastics, LAX and XC unless they cut all men's except football.

@OrinKerr From what I understand, law schools have moved away from this approach and I can't understand why. When you figure out what's going on here (it may take you a while -- perhaps a few weeks), the idea isn't the prof teaching you the law but to teach you to think like a lawyer.

@KennethKirkPC @OrinKerr I called my mom (actually, she called me) after my first law school exam (Civil Procedure). I was discussing alternative careers simply on how I thought I did! She said, no, it probably won't be that bad. She was right: it wasn't. I didn't ace it but was still in the top third.

Once that is done, she will likely be disbarred (if convicted or pleas out, either of which is a near certainty). The suspension, I believe, is interlocutory in nature. Check that.

It may be possible to grow a firm from almost nothing to $5 million in 2 years, but it is nearly impossible to do that without multiple people there. If someone is indeed paying him large fees for his "expertise," why start in 2024?

@doug_keegan I don't think its either one. If it were, they'd announce it later this week out of respect for the coach that wins -- his first national championship. This is to try and take the focus off tonight's game, particularly if A&M wins, and put it on t.u. baseball. Pretty crappy...
