Salary cap: $180.5 million
Salary floor: $162.4 million
Luxury tax threshold: $219.2 million

Nine teams would have been over the luxury tax threshold (LAD, NYM, NYY, PHI, TOR, HOU, TEX, SDP, ATL)

Three teams would have been over the soft cap but under the luxury tax threshold (CHC, LAA, BOS)

15 — FIFTEEN! — teams would have been below the salary floor (BAL, DET, MIL, KCR, STL, MIN, COL, CIN, WSH, CLE, TBR, PIT, CHW, ATH, MIA)

In 2024, MLB players received 47% of MLB’s $12.1 billion in revenue. NBA players earn between 49-51% of their league’s revenue. THAT’S how every team can afford to spend above the floor. MORE money has to be paid to players. And this is a bad thing? Why?
