DID YOU KNOW? The State Adequacy Target (SAT) is essentially the per-pupil funding amount school districts receive from the state. It is recalculated every two years and set by the State Board of Education. The SAT is currently set at $7,145 (although districts only received $6,900 this year due to state revenue being overestimated). Since 2005, the SAT has increased 17 percent while the cost to educate students (inflation) has increased 65 percent.

1/n: I could be wrong, of course, but my take about this hantavirus outbreak is less about the actual outbreak and more about what it means in the context of the last two decades and moving forward. Let me explain...
It's a critical week for MO public education as FY 2027 state budget is being finalized. Now is the time to engage your house representative and urge them to fund public education with reliable revenue sources. Our kids. Our schools. Our future. #moleg#OranEaglePride.
A Missouri Senate decision to use money set aside for Capitol renovations to shore up funding for public schools isn’t popular with Gov. Mike Kehoe or the budget chief in the Missouri House. But they aren’t dismissing it outright. #moleg#mogov

Overly optimistic predictions for revenue from the lottery and casino taxes will cost Missouri school districts $245 per pupil before the fiscal year ends in June. #moleg#mogov

One of the biggest lies we Christians have come to believe is that the best and most effective way to address the pressing issues of our time is to gain more control over others rather than become more compassionate towards others.
This is the opposite of the gospel of Jesus.
While the entire way Missourians are going to be taxed is being decided the Capitol Police have the Missouri State Capitol locked while the @MissouriSenate is in session.
The people who pay for the capitol are literally locked out while their senate whose salaries they pay is in session. I was told by the capitol police officer that “I am not allowed to unlock the door after hours”. How is it “after hours” if the senate is in session.
Why are the elected officials so afraid of the public? The arrogance is astounding.
Senator @curtisdtrent just said he “welcomed the input of the public” on this bill. Well he might start with unlocking the doors of the capitol while the Missouri Senate is in session.
Jesus’ harshest words in the gospels wasn’t towards prostitutes, other religions, or undocumented immigrants.
Jesus’ harshest words were towards the rich and religious who used God’s words to justify exploitation and oppression.
Yet many want us to believe the opposite.
Our Sen @lincolnhough is a stud. Proposed a state budget restoring cuts to disability services and with increase for education, paid for with a $451M earmark for Capitol renovation. Was booted from chairmanship for bucking his party on gerrymandering. Votes his conscience.
I just listened to the James Talarico interview. Never would’ve heard it otherwise without the FCC chaos. These were his very last words:
“They want us talking about furries and bathrooms so we don’t realize that they are picking our pockets, that they are closing our schools, they are gutting our healthcare, and they are raising taxes on all of us while they cut taxes for their billionaire donors. The culture wars are a smoke screen because the real fight in this country is not left versus right; it’s top versus bottom.”
Again, the Republicans are going to have to do a whole lot better than “Vote for us because we’re not the left.”
I was just thinking about which state has elected the worst Republican congressional delegations over the past decade overall and I think I’ve settled on Missouri.
One of the most blatant forms of hypocrisy in our time is Christians holding all ordinary people accountable to the most rigid moral standards while simultaneously holding their preferred politicians and celebrities accountable to no standards at all.
Beware of any Christian movement that demands the government be an instrument of God's wrath but never a source of God's charity, mercy, or compassion.
I impeached Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, those were my articles of impeachment that passed in the House of Representatives. I unapologetically believe in border security and deporting criminal illegal aliens and I support law enforcement.
However, I also unapologetically support the 2nd amendment.
Legally carrying a firearm is not the same as brandishing a firearm.
I support American’s 1st and 4th amendment rights.
There is nothing wrong with legally peacefully protesting and videoing.
MAGA, consider it like this.
We lost our minds when we watched Biden’s FBI track down and aggressively carry out home invasions and arrest on peaceful J6’ers who walked in the Capitol through open doors.
Imaging if one of our MAGA independent journalists or even just a MAGA supporter stood in the street outside a J6’ers house while Biden’s FBI carried out a law enforcement operation, home invasion, and arrest.
Then Biden’s FBI goes to the MAGA guy videoing it all and shoves a woman with him to the ground and sprays them with bear spray then throws the MAGA guy to the ground as MAGA guy was trying to help the woman off the ground. Then Biden’s FBI beats MAGA guy on the ground, disarms MAGA guy, and then shoots him dead.
What would have been our reaction?
Both sides need to take off their political blinders.
You are all being incited into civil war, yet none of it solves any of the real problems that we all face, and tragically people are dying.
