One of my students said this to me in a submission: "I wasn't much aware of how hard America or half of America had to fight in order for everyone to have the same freedoms and access to the same things as each other." I call that a victory for history!

@marianneLchan As I teach at a community college and have been on academic search committees there (although the way you phrase this makes it seem like a community college search is not what you are thinking of). For us, that undergrad experience would be a plus.
